hi! i'm using airtel AOT-4221SR router and i have set a custom DNS server which is my self-hosted Adguard home. Whenever the router restarts all the clients get disconnected and i have to re-login to web ui to do some toggle to Airtel DNS server and then back to my agh servers.

All i do now to fix this is login to router UI and switch the servers back to Airtel ones, save and then revert back to my agh ip. Is there any way to fix this?

One more thing, these restarts happen at 3-4am and they def are not related to power since i have an inverter at my home. I stayed up to check if it was a power cut and it wasn't it just restarts automatically.

Some routers have a scheduled reboot option. Just make sure that it's not by default turned on in your case. That might explain why it reboots at night.

Need to go into Network > WAN and choose the 5_OTHER_B there is a option of Enable/disable below, right click and open inspect element from there remove disabled="disabled" and do the same for the save button below and then click save. i haven't verified this but the setting does get saved i even asked my airtel local technician if this actually works (i did this while he was standing besides me) and he says it will work. i am in process of buying another router will be able to verify then. just hoping they dont patch this :). someone else on the forum had also mention that he used inspect element and he was able to use it but nothing detailed was provided.

if someone can verify this works do lmk, here's the screenshot after reload and doing this:

i get ipv4 assigned as well. the thing is i cant disable dhcpv6 in airtel router otherwise i would have moved to my adguardhome's dhcp but it wont turn on cuz dhcpv6 of airtel cant be closed

The workaround i mentioned seems to work i got an archer c6 and it successfully connected via ppoe. tho internet doesn't seem to be working for some reason
