NOKIA G-2425G-A Unlocked Modem can used with BSNL FTTH?

I have BSNL FTTH Connection with DBC Modem, The WiFi is not as good, So Tried use Nokia G-2425G with Fiber Optic, But PON Status is Down , When I checked Optical Module the RX Power about -25dB. Can you anyone help to use that modem for BSNL.

It won't work because the Nokia G-2425G-A is a GPON ONT and afaik BSNL provides EPON connection

Not true entirely. It depends on the area. If your LCO is using EPON then yeah it wouldn’t work.

But then in case of BSNL it’s not possible to generalise, as the last mile equipment entirely depends on the LCO.

Yeah, It totally depends upon TIP/LCO that which tech he had built the network on. I have TP-Link XZ000-G7 it works without any hassle with EPON OLT but recently a new GPON OLT was installed near my home so I switched to that.

If your LCO is using GPON OLT, you can ask him to tag your Nokia ONT on his OLT or in layman's term ask him to assign VLAN from his end and it will work.
