Some news articles just do not make any sense.
If Nokia was sending X devices to Indian developers, photos of these phones would have been out already. I do not see Indian developers keeping this under wraps so cleanly.
Even if we ignore it. What exactly are these developers going to do with the phones? If it is indeed based on Android, the apps for Android would largely work on it out of the box. Sure you would have to disable the functionality relying on Google Play platform.
Now unless Nokia has already developed alternatives for these technologies, it makes no sense for them to start targeting developers already. I believe there are enough third party store options they can incorporate. Hell, even a browser based mobile app store would work just fine. It just has to download the APK and install them right?
Anyways. The phone has no point to exist if Nokia/Microsoft are not going to launch more devices.

Nokia working on 3 Android smartphones: Report
According to a report by Chinese technology website tech.qq.com, internal emails leaked by sources at Silicon Valley company Artesyn technologies say that Nokia is working on two Android smartphones other than Nokia X. While one has been codenamed Nokia XX, the codename of the other model is not yet known. The former will be positioned above the entry-level Nokia X, while the latter will be a high-end handset. The specifications of these two models are not yet known.
I wonder if the third will have a code name Nokia XXX  I am talking about mobiles phones ye dirty mind :D

News is that manufacturing of this device has been going on ful swing in hungary factories. However its almost confirmed that this won't feature google services ..hence Iam no longer that interested in it.

Even if it does not have Google Services, it could support most of Android apps. And may apps for Android are better and updated compared to other mobile OS :)

^^^ For them Nokia will collect all official APK, and put them in their own App Store :)
