Not getting SMS on my number on VoWiFi

VoWifi doesn’t work in airplane mode although it used to work before couple of years.Airtel has asked me to wait for 3 months to get this issue resolved since they need to change the equipment, since than it has been one months, lets hope they resolve the issue pan india

@crymetyme Hope so they do within 3 months. Do you any android os/phone which allows to vowifi on airplane mode?

@crymetyme Can save battery while i am in hostel there cellular coverage is shit tho and hostel wifi is available all times so can keep on airplane mode all time if i get wifi calling on airplane mode will save some battery tho.

@Gaurav_add There is a workaround, you can go to network settings and select you network as Vodafone or Jio,bsnl than your phone will have no signal and you can turn on wifi and use wifi calling

@Gaurav_add Yes i've seen some phones capable of doing that, but i guess samsung s series and iPhones can't do that.

@crymetyme I guess this won't do any good since we want to save battery here and latching onto a network which isn't in range should make phone try to search for it all the time, eventually draining the battery more.

@crymetyme Yeah, i tried doing that and even my phone went to "emergency calls only" but that is what the network status is right but what about the modem in phone that is still trying to search for network at its highest power. Phone receives and transmits right and the factor draining battery is the transmitting one and at times with bad network coverage the phone needs to radiate at higher power.

I guess someone with good understanding of mobile modems could add to this topic
