Yeah yeah I know many threads exist already. My mom wants to replace her old Nokia phone. Her requirements are:Video conferencing via Skype/Tango Using the following:SBI Mobile appICICI mobile appAirtel mobile appWhatsApp Calling and texting. I guess only Android phones apply cause of the app restrictions, not sure though. Screen size should not exceed 4.7And budget is 16K ish. Also Indian brands are a last resort.Any ideas? Cause we want to buy in the Diwali sales by FK and others. And oh yes I'll be rooting it after warranty goes and updates stop.

with lumia u will get any day better cam and build quality over Sony. Lumia 725 or Lumia 920 too maybe. Check out the apps u plan to use, if avail. on lumia then pretty good buy :)
I personally don't like sony their service center guys are not qualified, nor are they given any uniform ( Atleat in South Ex, New Delhi, 4 years back it was like this, was SE then) seems like they hire armatures.
Agreed. Camera and build quality maybe li'll good over other sony models. But again ..windows apps lack apps which might have made use of lumia's camera. LAdies swear of those things ..like instagram/snapseed.
Doesn't matter if service center's guys don't have uniforms or not ..what matters is the service :)

I find it annoying when at a service center you end up finding guys in casuals. Why? You have no idea if the person you are going to talk to is another customer or a service care guys. Worst is when they are chitchatting amongst themselves or on the phone. Even worse is when they are busy going through their Facebook streams rather than catering to waiting customers.
My experience at Samsung service center? Decent.
My experience at HTC service center? Average.
My experience at Motorola service center? Horrible.

Samsung's service center had this problem. people were dressed in casuals and one guy was openly flirting with another employee. But as soon as we entered the shop ..they focused their attention to us ..made us wait 5 mins ..then told indeed phone is faulty ..they took the phone and they resumed their flirting. But phone was repaired in two days. overall good service.
My experience at lava/mircomax service center?? Worse! It was like an saturday vegetable market ..was soo pissed, my friend was ready to get his phone repaired at Jagdish market rather than in that service center.

Yup. my visit to a motorola shop few years ago... the receptionist was actually yelling at customers for filling up the forms wrong because it was making her job hard.
But then it was not exactly motorola but Redington...

Colleague bought a new Lumia 720. Within 10 days it goes off, throws windows exception, does not load windows
Service centre Visit one : They Install Amber update and return. 3 days
Service centre Visit two: Dont know what they did, phone was the same. 10 days
Service centre Visit Three: After threats from the first visit itself with posting on twitter, fb , email (they dont have any email id for escalation of service related issues), they finally swapped the phone (might not be new one). Finally it is working fine. 10+ days
So it was more than a month of torture for him for a brand new phone
Bottom line : Most of the service centre suck regardless of any brand

Should have purchased it from Flipkart. :P
You are going to have similar experience if you are seeking a replacement. I had few issues getting a replacement for my HTC One X even though the problem was a superficial one.
