Please guide regarding harassment for no fault of ours ..

Hi guys first thing thank you so much for the help and for encouraging me .. I have decided to go to the police tomorrow .. Just an update he sent an sms on my moms phone saying damages are Rs 3000 or then I have his bike checked from my mechanic and have it repaired on his behalf ...

@ghpk thanks for all the encouragement brother .. To honestly admit I am not scared as such but defo cautious in todays day and age where anything can happen .. Mom and me stay alone so have to keep some degree of safety .. I agree that I must go to the cops and not entertain this guy ...
@ Darshan brother thanks man .. Not thinking on lawyer lines unless it gets nasty .. Actually the guy took my cars number plate to his house .. His brother told me on the phone that he has my number plate ... So that itself is not done .. I just asked mom she said he was not wearing a helmet nor was the girl who was the pillion rider ... The thing is that I am taking my damages in my stride and will most probably claim insurance but you have a good point I should ask the police to recover my dues as the fault was his .. I am hoping that there was a cctv camera .. I just hope there was ...
 
most probably that guy wont even have license or proper bike papers. That might be another reason for him to avoid cops.

Just dont worry about them. Next time when they call tell him you are recording this call and will present it in the police station or court. Am dead sure, he wont call you again.

One can get in serious trouble if they misbehave with women in India. Add this point in your report to cops that they misbehaved with your mother.
 
he might be some kid cause if they were some super humans or mafia they would have come down to your door without fear.
Let me tell you one incident, a year or two back, same thing happened with my mother in Lajpat Nagar, Delhi,
She was out for some household shopping and driver saved a biker in traffic but even with car standing still the biker came like a rocket on front bumper.
making a dent but started knocking on drivers door and didn't removed his bike from front, when our driver rolled down the window the biker took the keys from igniition
and then asked the driver to talk,
Talk were simple, Give me 2000 else you would be half dead in half hour, you don't know me and all that shit.
my mom requested him politely and he was arrogant and picked his bike and flew away with the car keys saying I want money in 30 mins.
mom called and informed my father, who happens to be a resourceful old man but very honest, would even hang me for any small illegal mistake,
so he called some people seeking help and within few minutes some senior police officers called back for rescue, they said we'll arrange madam to be drop at home in few minutes
car would be brought later and don't panic such stuff happens everyday.
within few minutes 2 PCR along one ASP or ACP was on site and police started asking the shopkeepers about the biker, and everyone told car was already halted and
driver saved him, but the dude was angry like crazy but no one had his bike number, and few minutes later a old rickshaw puller arrives at the scene with a "Ten Rupee" Note and car keys, saying I was waiting at other corner for getting hired while some biker came and gave me this tenner and the key to give it to that car,
"Sahab, I am hungry since noon, so I agreed" and biker left even before i started coming to you."
They lived in same house in lajpat nagar for 2 years since then and never saw that biker again.
So Take a Chill Pill call the police and if you can manage to record his call, I am sure he would be spending many times of asked money for his Bail and would never do this again.
 
Thanks man for giving me some confidence .. In these matters my anxiety issues start acting up .. but thanks for the confidence ..
 
Ok I finally went to the police station with my mom today ... Police called them and took their side of the story also .. Tomorrow they will give me copy of NC ... Cops told me they will now not call and harass us and if they do then I need to get back to the police .. Overall was a nightmare dealing with the cops as we went without any reference or pull ...
 
We should call these people from public phones and harass them saying we are from press and got to know your story from the police. Pay back in their own currency.
 
Ok one more update my mom went to the police station to collect the NC .. I could not go with her .. She asked the police guy as to why this guy was avoiding the police so he divulged to her that he did not have any insurance on his bike and they fined him INR 2000/- ... So now its clear why he was forcing us to pay and also why he was avoiding the cops .. The cop also told her ( I dont know how much to believe the cops on this one ) that they have taken it in writing from him that if he calls now he will have to pay a fine of INR 5000/- ..
 
As I mentioned earlier, main reason for him avoiding was not proper papers or DL. What about the repair for your damaged car? Is he paying for that?
