18 watts during use and 15 during standby. This is a 2 year old stb; the new ones may be more efficient.10.80 units pm if always in standby mode.11.25 for 5 hours of tv11.70 for 10 hours of tv So you save only by switching of the stb when not used. When standby mode was introduced in the pcs, one megawatt (1 million watts) of power was saved. Now even with standby power consumed is significant because of the population of pcs. Hence, the green code is - switch off when not in use, even if standby mode is available.
Voltage variation will not affect the digicom, in my house i was watching TV in low voltage too(around 100 V).
Last year once there was high voltage in my area and because of that in the back of my TV there was smoke with noise for that i spent around Rs. 1200 but my Philips DVD and TS did not get affected on high voltage.........
