I have gazed into my crystal ball (Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster standard issue), and have seen the future thus:
The Congress party will make huge inroads in UP but they will throw away the advantage by making lousy, politically expedient alliances in order to hold onto power. There will be another five years of power play and governance will emerge a poor second.
Congress will pay dearly in Maharashtra for the free rein given to Mr. Pawar and company and we shall be at the mercy of the communal forces, their regressive policies and moral policing, for the next five years. A more repressive IT bill will be passed during their regime. Having been starved of the opportunity to feed on the national resources, the BJP and it's allies here will hungrily gorge on them. Nothing will come of the Adarsh scam investigation. We will also see a lot more of Rahul Gandhi in Maharashtra.
One or more of the 2G scam accused will die under mysterious circumstances, or because of a heart ailment, in jail.
The honorable court will find no conclusive evidence linking the 200 odd crores to Kanimozhi and she will be released after her short stint in Tihar. She will then return to TN where she will be given a hero's welcome. Meanwhile Amma will be re-establishing her imperious reign and ruffling feathers all over.
Illegal mining will go on as before, the Reddy brothers will have quadrupled their assets as will have Jagan, the rest of the MPs and MLA in the whole country will only succeed in doubling their's.
Another anniversary of the Bhopal gas tragedy will come to pass, the media, and all of us will once again express our outrage and curse Anderson and the whores who smuggled him out. The victims will remain uncompensated and the site contaminated. The honorable courts will issue new directives while rapping-slamming-lambasting-whamming-bamming the authorities concerned.
Uh-oh, the view is getting blurry now, see you after the next session.
