Here's the second image,

Its my current log, you can compare it with the readings above. As you can see there's nothing unusual in it, but tautology does scare people when they see 9 GB all of a sudden.

I am using 4 meters now

dumeter, Shaplus Bandwidth meter, Bandwidth Meter Pro v2.3 and Tautology.

I will compare the readings of all these meters today and post the result tommorrow.

You have not answered the query, whether your IP is 127.0.0.1.
Select [ quote ] your IP address is 127.0.0.1 ? [/ quote] quote without space.
then your comments.
Then the problem can be investigated.
In your computer
Start Run type cmd type ipconfig/all . post results here.

I will compare the readings of all these meters today and post the result tommorrow
for all meters select 127.0.0.1 !!

Well 127.0.0.1 is the loopback address, how can it be my address. I have got a Real IP address from 117.197.xx.xx range. My static IP address is 192.168.1.23

I wonder why Tautology was showing the loopback address before.

you can see that if i change my network interface monitoring, i will get strange results

now if one day say 10/02/2008 you have some ip address lika 117.a.b.c.d and downloaded and uploaded some 5 to 6 gb, and then again on another day say 15/02/2008 you get again ip address 117.a.b.c.d and donloaded 5 to 6 gb, now after some time, like 2 or 3 days after on 17/02/2008 again u get same ip address 117.a.b.c.d, even u didnot downloaded anything, this software give u impression like this ip address get 10GB of data transfered.

i hope u get what i want to say.....

you are right.tautology meter get confused by dynamic IP therefore you should monitor your physical LAN address i.e.intel PRO/100VE interface.i use in this way & never had a problem.
