Some months ago, TRAI made it mandatory for the cellphone operators to merge the Mumbai and Maharashtra circles thus all calls to cellphones on Maharashtra were made local. Now, in my plan, Hutch to Hutch calls are at only 50p. Till about two months back, I was being charged correctly but now all of a sudden I've been charged at some weird call rates. And when I called up the customer care yesterday they said that I will be charged at 1.69 ( thats the call charge for Hutch to other networks ) and it has been that way for some months now. Lying b*******!Now what I would like to know from people in Mumbai is how much exactly are you being charged for Hutch to Hutch calls in Maharashtra and Goa? Which plan are you using? I'm using the FV299 plan.

If I am not mistaken........Maharashtra circle doesnt have hutch na??It has BSNL, Airtel , BPL , and IDEA....So exaclty which calls are you talkin about. ?? I can ask my friends and tell u...I use MTNL Trump , I am charged at 1.75 for all calls to Mah networks (Landline and Mobiles) exactly as mentioned on the Trump site...

Mahrashtra BPL is now taken over by Hutch. So according to Trai full of Maharashtra including mumbai should be treated as one circle. But only Airtel (mumbai) follows these guidelines. Hutch is seriously ripping of customers by treating Hutch(Mumbai) as different circle and Hutch (Maharashtra) as different circle and charging accordingly. :angry:Also Airtel does not charge any roaming activation charge or other roaming charges as it treats full Maharashtra+Mumbai as 1 circle but Hutch is ******All other circles have sms packages available and we in mumbai pay 1.50/sms, thats ridiculous...

imran, for a brief period hutch had merged Maharashtra and Mumbai and I was being charged at 50p per minute only. But now for some reason they are charging 1.69. I am waiting for the resolution of my complaint. If its not resolved, I am going to write a strong letter to the head honcho of Hutch Mumbai. This is bullshit.Edit: is BPL in Maharashtra now Hutch? Because I heard there were disputes in the BPL merger with Hutch. So have they demerged again??Edit2: Imran, can you please provide me with the link to that order by TRAI? I am not able to find it.

Yes BPL Maharashtra is now completely converted to Hutch (Goto www.bplmobile.com, on right hand corner there is link under "what's new" section for Maharashtra and Goa which takes to hutch site).

There is a ongoing dispute going on for merger of BPL(Mumbai) and Hutch(Mumbai).

Edit2: Imran, can you please provide me with the link to that order by TRAI? I am not able to find it. [/b]

U can also write a complain letter to TRAI at [email protected]

Thanks a whole lot imran :) I got in touch with their nodal officer and they are mostly going to resolve it. I'm going to wait and watch now :(

Plz, let me know if they start charging hutch to hutch in Maharashtra as local again!EDIT: Did you speak to Anthony (Nodal office for Mumbai)? I have sent an email to Anthony about this same issue. Lets see what he replies...

No. It wasn't Anthony. It was some lady whose name started with P ( Paramjeet, Prakruti, Preeti or the likes :P ). I'm bad at remembering names. Anyway, she assured me that H2H calls *are* local but she said that BPL in Maharashtra wasn't yet Hutch ( or rather she wasn't very sure of it ). Is Anthony's email address mentioned on hutch.in?

Actually she was confused herself. Do let me know what reply you get from anthony.Ok one more question, which plan (not necessarily of Hutch) will give me the cheapest calling rates to BSNL mobiles in Maharashtra and Goa?
