BSNL DataOne
I live in Vyalikaval in Bangalore. Two years ago I signed up for BSNL DataOne convinced that was the best service available. I think it still is, but have they become complacent, or is it the usual deterioration in everything the public sector takes up? From over three months ago, when you click a website, you get the message "Server Not Found". This is becoming very frequent, especially in the afternoon. One has to click many times to get to a link. What use is 2 Mbps if you cannot get to a site. Have tried complaining at the regular complaint service (item 5). There is some improvement after a few hours. But there seems to be no awareness a serious problem is emerging. At BSNL website cannot find to whom you should complain. A couple of e-mails I sent came back, saying address was wrong. In desperation I sent an e-mail to the concerned Dy Director General in BSNL HQ, but no reply. I am told the problem is serious in the Indiranagar area as well. HOW CAN WE WAKE UP BSNL ? OR ARE THEY ALREADY RESIGNED TO LET ONE OF THE PRIVATE SECTOR SERVICES TAKE OVER ?

it's really bad situation.i really feel for u.u will be surprised to know that whenever i went to lodge a complaint at local exchange they confessed that they dont know anything about broadband and everything about dataone is controlled from bangalore and they hv no way but but to serve customers bcos superiors decide everything.now seeing customers even at bangalore in such a situation i only say ''mera bharat mahan'' what else?

the thing with bsnl is.. if it works.. it'll keep working for a long long time.. if it goes down.. the experience with their cc is just like that of tata..airtel is much better compared to bsnl.. but.. they are limited only to a few places..

I am with airtel just for the sake of their customer care. Not switching to BSNL after hearing these horror stories :)

Ofcourse that is correct...If people start admitting, that they don't know, then there is no point in scolding, nagging or going berserk on them. But the point is the recruitment system and the passion to work. Obviously there will be people in BSNL, who will be aware of the telecom basics and lot many, will still have the fire in belly but are available to a luck y few. Most of them have either forgotten or have entered by bribing. Its all the problem of brand "Gov't Job" .
