DAMN IT-------I got a same problem again - STB keep switching ON and OFF ignition lights - NOT staying steadily as ON so it doesnt start any channel but constantly getting ON/OFF.I am not watching TV since over 24 hours now. CC said "48 hours" mein solve kar denge.I called up local people as i knew this problem. It can only get solved by replacing a STB and they said "we dont have any STB in-stock. We have to bring it from a company and its a long procedure. It would take some days"Damn bloody answer. Making excuses always.Even after a launch their STB is not stable and not working properly all the time. This is the 5th replacement in 3 months.DO NOT BUY BIG TV - Wait for Airtel and Videocon - Buy any of MPEG4 DTH only after 6-10 months of their commercial launch.
 
I am happy that i didnt shift to bigtv ,,,,, So many problems with CC and with the Bigtv STB.... God saved me ...
 
desingwebgraphic,I have the Old STB Model 1, which you said defective. But till today my STB is not re-started.. the only problem is i face the slow menu navigation some times...it was happening very rarely too..I am concerned about only few thing in BIG TV1. 16:9 Video output2. Still more digital sound3. Fast Menu navigation..earlier i had very big trouble with CC for not installing it.. but after the installation there is no issues due to the hardware etc... But i agree i have some more expectation in Service... U were commenting first BIG TV is good.. i am happy....and Now i say BIG TV is good i am happy...The earth Revolves !!!!! ;):D
 
Well... Pray to god that it creates some problem... more you make complaint, sooner you will get Version 2.0 STB It sucks when it stops completely but each time it makes me happy when they come and change the whole device with the newer one.Slowly they are giving new hardware to retailers and I always want to have the latest (same as they are giving end users now - after completing their older faulty stock) If not today then you may face a problem after few months and that time it would take even longer time to resolve because by that time they would have more and more customers to look after So do something with it and get it faulty, mate...
 
Okay..But can you please update me on the below1. Menu navigation speed?2. Though i have not face hanging problem/restart problem, does the new hw is designed to reduce this problem?So i can ask for the new STB

welll just like u i have a stb manufactured date on dec 2007 it has slow menu speed and slow channels changing and sometimes slow volume changing asked them for a replacement ,so they replaced it and the new stb manufactured june 2008 ,and right before there eyes its started to hang,and the technical manager was taking to the service people in my house via phone i spoke to technical manager he said that "problem is normal sir ,when we launch a new software it may be resolved sir" but for him its normal,:@ i have half a mind of going to the consumer court.they service people rarely respond in 48hrs its more like 480hrs that too only by repeatedly calling them.
they still lie about the 16:9 mode,for which we can sue them.
 
Even you can sue them as for false marketing and advertising tactics. They mention 200+ Channels whereas we only have 187 (even if you add 10 radio channels - its still 197) not 200+ Go to consumer court and start taking actions then only these companies will start taking care of customers. I already did so in past with my internet provider. Go ahead buddy.

well it varies from place to place so in bangalore its different i do have bangalore the number of CC manager MR syed but he said not to give to anyone since that is personal number ,which was recorded by y CID and his office number wasl also recorded ,but when i call back to office number ,someone from genisis pick ups which handles all the calls for big tv and he said u cannot call this number since its a intracircle number ,but it doesnt matter to me since i have his mobile number.
