Btw, i found that a size of a dish is a bit larger than TS and DISH but its good.

Measat-1 Ku band footprint has max. signal strength near chennai tamilnadu amd min near gujarat. Is this reason for bigger dish?

Reliance uses measat-3. I could not locate its footprint map>

The measat-3 ku band footprint is available in the below link... Yes! as someone said, its strongest beam( focalpoint ) is in the south of india...and starts dropping in gujarat and north...

Can you clarify one doubt. I don't see a "BIG TV" logo in your first screenshot which is from StarPlus. So, They don't put logos on all channels?

Unfortunately its on ALL channels.

Now what you saw, here is an answer - That 1st one is having that MINI GUIDE at bottom so when you open a mini guide (or change channel or do any other function which pops up something on that screen) then BIG TV logo goes off and when we close any other stuff, it again comes back.

Its there on ALL the channels. I hope for 2 things -
[1] They should make it a bit smaller
[2] They should make it as a watermark (almost 70% transparant)

Hope they implement this and we will surely have more pleasure watching all the channels. Right now its distracting eyes and mood.

no yar.. i had "intex" one but i sold it off few months ago!! isnt there any other way? using my laptop or using a pen drive or any other way?

STB has a USB connector.. what does it for? to record to a pen drive? or to take a video to a laptop?

I do not know specifically about this receiver but normally STBs have a USB so that you can install updates supposing the Satellite you are connected to doesn't provide updates for that brand receiver. But BIG TV is taking car of that so its not an issue.
About recording onto your pen drive...lol thats impossible, for that the receiver has to be like a PC, ie having a processor or linux based or something like a Dreambox.
But you can get softwares on the internet that allow you to connect your STB (receiver) to your PC and then use the PCs harddrive as a PVR. But these softwares are brand specific and I doubt they'll work on this Taiwan stuff BigTV is giving.

I have a GOOD NEWS for all of us.... I called up that guy (who offered me PCO offer connection) to explain me about the functionalities of remote and other things. I then asked him "when will it be launched commercially?" He said - nothing is fixed yet. anytime. I said - i heard of diwali / 15th august? He said - sooner than that for sure. He told me few things which is almost convincing me. [1] He said, they are expecting on 27 July. He heard from his management people about that date.[2] Company (reliance) has to do something about it now. Because - they have given these offers and connections from May. They all got 3 months free subscription. AND now their 3 months free subscription will be over by end of the month (May, June, July - thats all - 3 Months will be over by end of JULY). AND - Right now, there is no way of recharging their subscriptions. SO - company has to do something before that. Thus, 27 is ALMOST the date of launching. Guys - i know, i never posted anything without source. I am sorry, if this is going to be wrong but i wish - this time it happens. I only convinced due to 2nd reason he gave. He is right. There is no way of recharging!! unless reliance allows them to keep using free till they commercially launch even till next few months! Today, i saw few more updates in just half an hour. He was sitting with me and i was asking him that yesterday i was able to see "EPG" and today i am browsing through channels and its not even showing whats coming next and not even 24 hour guide and not even a week of guide... he also said that yes, its not coming right now. AND THEN - SUDDENLY (after half an hour while he was talking to me) I saw 2 updates[1] Category menu shows all categories (yesterday when i got this - i could see just 2 categories - TV, RADIO) and today there are whole bunch of others (such as Movies, Music, Kids, Infotainment etc... and i could browse through them as well) [2] EPG - started again. Now i can see a whole 1 week of program guide for all channels. THEY ARE UPDATING. And i hope, they do something worth to launch this time. Guys, thats all for now. These are the updates for today. You may think that i have given a new date but as the way he was telling me - i think he was right - 27 JULY can be a launch date. Lets see.

I am using BIG TV from Feb 08:thumbsup: 3 Months FREE subscription is allready over. As per ISP guy My 3 MONTH FREE subscription will be count from the day of commercial launch. it means i'll enjoy free sub more tha 8-9 months. :yahoo::yahoo:
