Rumored Reliance Jio Fiber Broadband Plans

So, the laying down of Jio cables in my lane got completed today. Now only if we knew when the connections will be provided life would be sweeter in broadband world.

So just now I received a call from a sales person from Jio. He said he's calling since I registered interest for Jio Phone. I said I had expressed interest in Jio fiber not Jio Phone. To this he said Jio fiber will launch in December, Fiber has been completed a month back at my location.

@msingh Ask your society head or representative to contact them. It will be setup within some days if it's feasible.

Infact, I would suggest ditch Jio and get Airtel. Airtel has one of the best FTTH.

Jio has huge routing issues. People get 50-100ms ping on Fiber. I mean common, it's way more than a ADSL.

Contact Airtel for FTTH.

You have answer in your previous post.

Get rid of Excitel and ACT and have exclusive deal with Airtel. (if you want airtel)

We already tried airtel but they are not interested due to act fiber. We got act ad excitel already in our apartment.

This is bit strange, though. What could be the reason? Anyone?

@pothi If he meant they live in a society and they already have ACT and Excitel over there. Airtel or Jio wouldn't give them much importance.

Reason: The more ISP are their, the lesser the customer they would get. Airtel and Jio does the Society Deals based on exclusively like al the houses in these society should use the Airtel and Airtel only.

Like all those DLF Societies has single ISP only because it's what the exclusive deal is.

Right now, What is happening in this case is that all those ISP are there and there is no profit for Airtel to come, install fibers and see no return.

(ISP makes money when they have the biggest market share, since 1 customer doesn't pay the fiber cost, it's 100s of customers who make profit for the ISP).

There is no FTTH better than Airtel. Jio can't beat Airtel FTTH Quality. (Jio has huge routing issues right now and the only win Jio would have is that they are targeting mass market where as Airtel FTTH targets premium markets only (Posh Areas or Societies).

P.S.: Airtel FTTH is not Airtel ADSL or Airtel VDSL (V-Fiber). FTTH means 100% Fiber.
