Rumored Reliance Jio Fiber Broadband Plans

There is no LCO involved with JIO FTTH. i have asked the guy who installed the services in my building, he said we are getting permissions from societies and then installing fiber in your building. The reason it takes time for you to get the connection is we don't always get permission to install underground fiber to your building..............but said that i'm not sure whether they use overhead or underground.

@diablo221 True. In all the buildings where I have seen jiofiber, connection has been made by jio team using their own equipment and there are no LCO or anyone involved. Also, its all underground wiring everywhere, I dont think they will resort to overhead cables.

Last year when jio accidentally made the "jiofiber preview offer" page public, I saw their format of application for registering interest. First you had to search for your area using pin code, then it would show a dropdown of all the available societies in that area. Then you had to fill a form and provide your details as well as your society's chairman or secretary's details whom jio would call and take permissions.

I think they will launch the same page on Aug 15th.

On August 15,I will post an instagram story and snapchat story that Jio GigaFiber registerations are now live. This is the only way to get more registerations in my locality.

I am not too sure about blindly taking the leap. Their latency problem is not something they seem least interested in addressing. If it is bad then it will remain bad forever unlesss they make proper planning about the routing at the very beginning of the physical installations nationwide. Although not everybody has such delicate needs, I suppose. Most people are just too happy to "do" facebook at Terrabytes/secs....

Hi everyone,

Jio has Fiber to a tower near me and the engineer said that the fiber can be used to give connections just by adding a port splitter. But now the guy is saying that there will be a separate Fiber coming to my area for FTTH.

@cia I completely agree. Without proper Pricing/Bandwidth/Routing/Latency/International Bandwidth, Jio GigaFiber will not be of much use for many people including me.

What you will see on August 15th if you don't already have the service is an option in your my jio app considering you use their sim cards or you download the myjio app, will see an option to register. Now if you're a jio customer already like sim card then you won't have to go through much registration. This is again just registration, it will not mean that you will 100% get the services. The availability of services will depend on the demand for the service in your area or locality
