Rumored Reliance Jio Fiber Broadband Plans

Actually, there is some credibility to this news. All the sales employees have been asked not to commit of 3 months free service to new connections. So the launch is round the corner.

I have one doubt to be honest, the ping of the Fiber is more than the ping of the Jio Mobile 4G.

Doubt: JioFTTH is going to take their connectivity from Jio's Towers?

Because, so far there is no improvement in the JioFiber's Pings (shared by people here)

One unique thing: Tata has the same issue. They have almost similar FTTH pings as Jio has. (Checked myself as I visited Tata's Fiber Facility few days back and did some speedtests) Tata Broadband to Tata Broadband ping is 10-20 but Tata to Others is as high as 50ms.

Only Provider which truly doesn't have this issue is: Airtel FTTH. Their Broadband backbone is 100% individual to Mobile.

No they are not taking connectivity from Jio Towers. And even if they do, fiber can accomodate different frequencies of data. So FTTH data can be distinguished from mobile data even if they travel on same fiber line.
I do agree on poor pings, hopefully they will be rectified on launch.

I was shocked to know that Tata being older into this business (Telecommunication) has such bad pings.

Companies are shifting to Cloud Infrastructures for better peering but these so called billion dollar ISPs aren't making their own efforts.

1-5ms ping should be the average ping for every customer in Metro Cities of India now. Airtel is somewhat doing good in that. They have 5-7ms ping being on VDSL and have 1-4ms ping on FTTH.

I hope they fix this as Jio and Tata both are charging premium prices as compared to Airtel.

Tata is focused on enterprise clients and when dealing with enterprise clients they are bound with SLAs. So they are doing pretty good in their domain of expertise. While Jio on other hand should have ironed out these issues by now. Its more than 2.5 yrs since they have launched their FTTH under 'beta' and yet routing remains the same. Not to forget, my upload speeds are pathetic as of now on Jio FTTH. Have complained twice and engineers were not able to spot the issue.

^ What I have heard about is that they have broke the engg. of Airtel only and meanwhile Airtel did new hiring.

Airtel's VDSL Performance is actually improving in multiple areas now. I just hope FTTH of Airtel comes soon.

Jio FTTH can only be good (with this routing) if it becomes cheaper (same for Tata FTTH).

They did initially. Telecom is a small industry now. Although Jio hired many new engineers and sales peeps.
Airtel's VDSL is shit for me. Every 15 days I face frequent disconnections.
