Rumored Reliance Jio Fiber Broadband Plans

But 2 or 3 weeks ago you all are saying that Jio will delay the launch of Gigafiber because it not fully ready!

Of course. This thread is only about guessing the plans and their prices. It is not about the expected launch date.

Even the following article mentions only about plans. Not the launch date.

I expect it to launch in 2020 as well. Just the pricing is likely to be announced in the upcoming meeting to keep up the hype.

I don't think that Jio is going to provide Gigabit speeds as of now. Even if they somehow introduce Gigabit bandwidth, that will be only limited to Tier 1 cities cutting off tier 2 and tier-3 cities.
As per my observations in some places they are using fibre backhauls from Jio towers.

I suppose plans would be identical to BSNL's in tier 3 cities as they have no competition at there.

1. Basic BB only plan of 50/100mbps upto 100Gb for 499/599 + taxes
2. Triple Play plan of 100mbps upto 100/300Gb for 899/1099 + taxes and 2-3 other combos in this segment with varied speed upto 1Gbps and data packs.
3. High end plan with Triple play and other IOT devices for 1099 + taxes and above.

Reliance is focused on moving from oil as their main revenue source they want to get into every digital service. E commerce, iptv, wallet,e bank, mutual funds, insurance, chat apps, ott content, IOT devices etc.

Basic internet 10 Mbps/200 gb + IPTV < Rs 650+tax
Moderate 50 Mbps/600 gb + IPTV = Rs 800+tax
Add on 30 gb = Rs 50+tax
Add on 100 gb = Rs 100+tax
Unlimited plans will start from Rs 1500-2000+tax

Service quality will be ok initially but it will never be on par with Airtel. Non-peered content will be heavily throttled.

May be they will also launch some cheap smart TV under their own brand like Jio phone with some EMI option

Above is my guess. Each may customize his own triple play to meet his needs. This tariff throws a challenge to all types of competitors. My proposal is only the pattern. Probably I would have come up with better tariff if I had all the data that Reliance had.
