Rumored Reliance Jio Fiber Broadband Plans

Looks like this might be the only BB forum in the world where people don't want cheap and fast fiber. The topic says a game of guess and people are taking it so seriously, defending Jio from providing 1 gbps and questioning customers ! Sheesh guys.
No one is against higher speed. However it is a fact that currently for most usage, 100 to max 300 Mbps is more than enough. So we are hoping we get at least that with decent fup rather than worrying about 1Gbps. Look at advanced nations like the US. Less than 2 percent subscribers there have 1Gbps. So currently it would be fine to have normal plans of 100 Mbps with 300 to 500 Gb fup and more expensive 1Gbps for say 3 to 5 thousand per month. Most devices and routers are unable to handle more than 300 to max 500 Mbps in any case.

What I want from Jio is better customer support atleast which matches Airtel.

Better routing atleast matching Airtel.

Better Download and Upload simultaneously usage. So that it doesn't cause ping issue or packet loss.

This is what I want.

Advanced nations like US ? Advanced enough to have a monopoly of 1 ISP at almost all the non major cities ? Advanced enough to pay one of the highest charges for phone and broadband lines ? Advanced enough that almost every year the US ISPs are ranked as the shittiest companies of the year ?

Come on man.

It is at least a hundred times more advanced than India. Car ownership is 900 per 1000 people, while India is less than 20 per 1000. Per capita income is 60,000 $ vs. 2000, practically 100% tv ownership vs. 20% for India. Home broadband pentration of over 90% vs. just 2% for India. Universal 24 hour power, water, sewage, aircon since about 1920s.
All tech you talk of like broadband, tv, routers are invented or designed in the Silicon Valley. Where are Google, Microsoft, Linksys, Cisco etc?

So compare in that context.

And as far as speed is concerned. Once you start using cloud storage for your entire storage needs then even 300Mbps will seem very less

Well the economic development and paying capacity of the country has to be kept in mind. People pay over $100 per month for their phones there while here they cry about paying 1$ per month. Factors like this and broadband penetration of 2 percent vs. 90 have to be considered as that impacts the isp revenue and thus the quality of service they can provide. In addition the overall economic development means more people are using the Internet, streaming videos and so on.
I am not saying the US should be a benchmark but if even there just 2 percent have 1Gbps we in India can accept that such service is not mainstream. Once we get developed lime Korea or Singapore or even China, we can consider taking leadership in high tech from the US.
