neh. ignore xperia s. it is not really in the same league.it is a fine phone. but not really comparable to one x or s3. could be considered if... you want a camera with higher resolution (quality of camera is still disputable as reviews say that Sony compresses the 12mp images too much messing them up completely) and a ui that looks much better than sense and touchwiz. hardware specifications is more comparable to Galaxy nexus (dual core processor).

I have been frantically looking for the Nexus in Delhi. Well, i can safely say just 1 store out of the 40 odd stores that i called has it. Its for 25k. I was extremely keen on this, until i read this thread. Is it really a good idea to wait it out for a month of the next Nexus(if there is one), or would it just be safer to opt for HTConeX and be happy for a long time.

you mean the next gen nexus? it is not coming out in a month or two. probably in november or december period.also. the best time to buy an android smartphone is when you cannot delay the purchase and want it absolutely immediately. you can never tell when the next big thing would launch.

Another query, Mr.chromaniac. I had a word with this store guy and he asks me to pay him a token amount and wait for an hour before he goes and fetches the phone. The token amount means i will have to purchase the phone. The store is a reputed store as far as i have heard.I am new here. He also mentioned, this one is from the UK and the box has been opened to unlock the phone etc. but it is still brand new. When i asked him about spare parts and the history of problems this particular phone has been faced by his customers, he mentioned 99.9 percent had nothing wrong and if at all there is any problem witht he mic. or the ringer, he could hook me up, except with issues with the screen. Now, after all, do you think it is a safe bet to still dive into this without the bill? I generally am very careful with my gadgets.

lol. that guy would fetch a unit from another store? that sounds baaad. you might want to check out ebay deals.

Fair enough. Desperate as i am, i will probably withhold on this one. Damn! I don;t trust eBay deals. What if the phone were to be bought from Singapore? How would that change anything? Its priced the same there at 25.6k. A legitimate buy, sure, with the bill. I won't benefit from the warranty though, would I? Any problems with unlocking here?

i have no idea about the locked versions of the gsm variant. usa has the unlocked version. i guess south east asia market has the locked edition of Galaxy nexus :| if you are concerned about the warranty. i would suggest avoiding the nexus.i have owned all the three nexus devices till now. all of them purchased in usa. all of them without warranty. have not faced any issues. htc one x was the first device i bought in india and i had to get it replaced within a week because of some issues with sensors. that's how it is.
