right.......navigation takes a lot of power

i would condition the batttery for sure now.........:D

Why not try out Portable chargers? I got a 4700/4800 mAh charger, of iBall.....there cud be higher capacity ones too. Mine costed 2200. But its very handy - especially with a phone that has just 1650 mAh battery, to use truck load of features.

root and then complain that the phone is not behaving normal :\

samsung has fixed pretty much the entire mess that was what touchwiz was. the latest version is not that bad and i do not see why you would risk messing up the whole experience by rooting and installing custom ROMs. :\

Being an Android user - that too of a higher end phone, means u shud be playing around with these tools. The freedom to that is the USP after all. It wud give me a feeling of going to Honeymoon, and indulging in actual sight-seeing only! :D

Congrats TooCool, Hope you are enjoying every bit of this powerful device.I'll suggest you to explore it for a couple of months before you jump to another ROM, this helps you a lot in actual comparison between a stock Rom and Custom one, then you have better chances of Fine tuning it to perfection to match your use and style, I am always in favor of custom Rom, but do it when you want and have lot of details what you are going to get in the custom RomHave you tried using GPS, if yes, try with data connection OFF, and let us know how long does it takes to get a satellite lock.GPS essential is App which would get you more best and fastest Sat. Lock.I loved app Ulysse speedometer/Gizmos in Rajdhani Exp. turned off Data and under a minute my poor "samsung Galaxy 3" phone was able to show exact Speed of the Train, phone kept near the window.

Some lag in tapatalk........ Don't know what is the culprit tapatalk or phone

Tapatalk...lags in s2 with and without stock rom. Don't worry.:D

@ghpk..how did you know that it was exact speed of the train?

@chromy....... In the Dark I am seeing a small red dim light .............:p:DSounds familiar? It's 1 of the sensors.......... What it is for?

I bought the Galaxy Note II at the beginning of December. I was originally waiting for the iPhone 5 but I wasn't impressed. With what Apple finally dished out. So the Note II it was.. The first unit I got had a defective screen.. returned it the next day and got a replacement.. the replacement unit had a defective S-Pen.. got the S-Pen replaced. All good now.. But right now it's a love-hate relationship with my Note II. Dont get me wrong, it's an awesome device. Its just the size that gets to you sometimes. I've learned to use it with one hand for most things.. but somethings you just have to use two hands. That gets annoying sometimes. A person like me who used an iPhone and an Android tablet, where the latter device was where I did most of my web browsing (and I do a lot of it), I hardly use my tablet for all that i used to before. All that screen real estate on the Note II makes web browsing effortless and easy on the eyes. Managing my work email and attachments and viewing those attachments is so much easier now. The added functionality offered by the SNote and SPen makes taking quick notes during meetings so simple. I hardly carry my organizer to meeting at work anymore. On the accessories front, I was never a person who enjoyed wropping up my devices in cases. I always prefer to rock my devices nude. I did buy a leather flip case after I bought the Note II (I dont like the official samsung ones), but only used it a few days until the GadgetSheildz I had ordered arrived. After applying the Gadgetshieldz, the flip case sits in my bag incase I need it. The Note II feels so much better in the hand withou the bulk of a case. IMO, its much easier to use one handed without a case. There are a few more cases/accessories I have on my list for the Note II.. but I guess we'll save that for another discussion...

Sounds familiar?

It's 1 of the sensors.......... What it is for?

Its proximity sensor light If I am not wrong and dim red light indicate that its running but it is not supposed to be so when nothing is in proximity of it. But still glowing means could be issue with app periodically accessing it and not letting it go idle. any VOIP app can access it. check if you have any such app running in background. if yes, exit/kill it and see if it still glows.

Do you have the "Quick Glance" option activated under "Motion" options in Settings? I think having that active keeps the proximity sensor on to detect if you put your hand over it. If the option is checked, try turning it off and checking the sensor light in the dark again. It should be off. You should uncheck the Direct Call option as well as that uses the proximity sensor as well.

There is nothing wrong with the sensor light being on as it is doing what it is supposed to.
