A few months earlier Samsung was widely criticized when it announced that Galaxy S, one of its best-selling smartphones, would not receive an update to ICS. A few weeks after that there were reports that the device would receive a Value Pack with ICS like features update but so far it is yet to materialize.
i thought this update was more or less confirmed?

Battery life is awful, if I unplug the charge cable without unlocking the device, battery will drain in 3 hours.

Even if the phone is on standby, battery keeps draining and it drains to 88% from 100% in two hours with WiFi, Sync, GPS turned off.

I have tried all possible workarounds, flight mode-restart, stopping applications manually. Nothing works.
