I too read about this issue. Some people are reporting such issues after overnight charging. I have started avoiding overnight charging after I read that.
Also now that I am rooted and on custom rom, I wonder if they will be ever be able to know(about modified status of the phone) if anything like this happened to me since the mainboard gets fried.
Since I bought the phone online, my invoice is in my email only. Though they did send a physical bill as well.

IM was your phone Korea manufactured or Vietnam? Also how old was it?

How to know that ?? It was exactly 6 months old.
 
It should not happen to any handset no matter what............ They don't make handsets to fail like this.

But its happening. I hope you have read the 50 Page thread on XDA forum regarding this single thread. Users all over World are facing this issue. Samsung is manufacturing handset like Pizza. Every month 2-3 new models are getting launched. In such fast race God know what their Quality Control people would be doing.

And the worst part is that I had to wait for 2 hours at Samsung Service Centre for my Token Number to arrive. So, complaints are no less in India too. And one of the Joker Service Engineer sitting at Service Centre was quoting to another customer that " India me kaun si company replacement deti hai " . This is the attitude to their Service Centres. I am sure none of the Apple Service Centre would have quoted these words neither a Blackberry Service Centre.

Everyday everywhere there is some or the other flaws wither with Samsung Handsets or with Google Android Versions. I surely made a wrong choice purchasing S3 :(

Should be mentioned behind the battery along with imei number.

Presently handset is with Service Centre. Any other way to catch it from IMEI or Box pack ?
 
bhai........i never said it wouldnt happen even with the utmost care.vertu mobile costing 3 lac also has issues i am sure ..........even in warranty period .i think there may be a bit hassel but u will get ur device back in working condition..........samsung has improved service centres as per my knowledge
 
Bro, I stated the present scenario and behaviour at Samsung Service Centre. This happened with me yesterday only. Security person sitting at the entrance was harsh enough . I still felt that the Lady handling my issue was gentle and soft whereas the guys sitting beside her and handling customer were behaving as if they are the CMD or CFO of the company.
 
use social media then..............and dont worry, things will be fineconsumer courts and social media will sail you through ...........:msn:
 
Social Media :D Are you joking bhai. Till now i had made them some 4-5 tweets for different-different issues but they never bothered to reply. They are busy in doing re-tweets of their fans who are talking all good about them. Yes Consumer court will help me if it goes to that level. I was searching for Samsung India CEO email- ID but couldn't find anywhere. If anyone find it, please PM me.
