Duh this is what happened with me just 3-4 days back.

It said expected time 18 minutes. Then after 3-4 minutes it became 19 minutes.

After about 10 minutes it became 15 minutes.

Another 5 minutes and it became 17 minutes.

After about total 40 minutes or so finally my turn came.

And then what happened? I described my issue to chat operator.

Then I told operator that item is defective and as mentioned in eBay gurantee page, I have marked it as "Item not received". (Its clearly mentioned if item is not as described file an "item not received" claim)

She replied, "So you received item, why did you mark it as not received? Check your item status."

And she closes chat session (which lasted 10 minutes because she would reply every 3-4 minutes)

So overall she just wrote 2-3 lines and closed chat session.

So I waited total 50 minutes and chat operator dared to close the session by just typing 2-3 lines.

What more, I did not even receive e-mail about conversation. (which comes otherwise - so I dont even have record how she closed chat session without even understanding what i said).

Then I chose their toll free number. So first waited about 10-15 minutes in queue.

Then person picked up talked for 2-3 minutes and said there is some system technical problem please hold the line.

(I never understood why ALL the customer care departments always have technical problem)

So then I again waited 10-15 on phone. Suddenly line went silent (music stopped) for 30 seconds or so. I got weird tuc-tuc sound. Then music came back again. Then again made me wait another 10 minutes.

And I realized I am again put back in queue! Because when someone came on phone, he started "Good afternoon, this is blah blah, how may I help you!"

Then I had to blast him what non-sense is this etc etc.

Moral of story.... irresponsible service by eBay!

Ok so recently I have purchased some 300Rs item..

And I have a feeling that I am about to be scammed!!

I am waiting for a fake product to arrive... not sure!

Why I doubt is because first, product was supposed to ship on 30th July latest.

Which did not happen.

I messaged seller 2-3 times but got no reply.

Then yesterday I got message from eBay stating that I have won the item and I have to pay.

But it was "BUY IT NOW" purchase not an auction, so how can i win it?

Plus I had selected Cash on delivery - so no question of paying in advance.

And today I got item dispatched email - but in the text it mentions that item was dispatched on 30th July!!

But when I go to courier's tracking page it shows that item was dispatched today!

Also seller location on eBay is Mumbai but item is shipped from Ahmedabad!!

So all these is making me skeptical that soon I will get scammed by a fake product?

Wow, suddenly now its showing that item is being shipped from Mumbai!!

God knows what is happening. Luckily its COD order and even if something goes wrong I would not lose lots of money.

Unless you pay money and don't get anything you will not be considered as scammed :D

My problem is that when item will come - I may not be at home.

And people here wud not know how to check if item is good or bad. :D

So either I tell them not to accept if I am not there.

Or I take risk and let them accept.

Since item is not costly.. i wud take the risk.

You should be safe. I am guessing your product is coming by bluedart.

What happens is ebay has their shipping service "powership" where they have tied up with courier companies and seller ship through them.

You ordered a product. The seller marked it "ready to ship" and handed over the product to courier company on 30th july. HOWEVER the courier company (bluedart regularly does that) did not update the result in system thus you got late notification and finally when you got the notification it showed 30th july..

The seller might be busy thus he may not have replied to your messages.

Yes its bluedart.

But item is local i.e. Mumbai to Mumbai.

If it was "ready to ship" - why did it take 5 days? 30th to 4th? (assuming it reaches tomorrow)

And what about the e-mail saying - "i won item and need to pay?" (on 1st Aug)

You are the winning buyer for the item BLAH BLAH. Thank you for your business.

Your payment for this item hasn't been received yet. If you haven't sent
payment, please follow the instructions below.

blah blah

My exp on ebay:
I had listed an used ati radeon 6850 gfx card for 6500/- in april, one particular buyer (aerosparkle) was bugging me to reduce price, poor man want for church and stuff like that.
As the Card did not sell even after a month i reduced it to 5k, and the same guy bought it.
I packed it, and shipped via DTDC.... Now this guy tells me he has not delivered, i call DTDC and ask, they tell me delivered and send me Delivery run sheet copy. Meanwhile this guy is insistent he did not get it.

So i ask DTDC again, they say the guy came and took delivery, unfortunately they did not verify id Card or anything, and gave it to a guy who came in and asked for package quoting tracking details. After making a conference call with seller+myself+DTDC delivery office+DTDC head office, they declare parcel as lost.

What i think has happened here is the buyer collects it from DTDC and puts claim on ebay as item not recd. That way he gets the card and refund too.
Buyer opens claim on ebay for INR and i submit the drs copy, and ebay settles claim in my favor and i got payment after 20-30 days.
Now the buyer appeals the claim and submits some documents( ebay has not shared them with me) and now ebay settles the appeal in buyers favor, and i get an email from ebay

Dear chetancbe,
An amount of Rs. 4,984.55 has been recovered from your PaisaPay account for the following reason: eBay Guarantee Claim No. 33623 for buyer aerosparkle for the following item #261880293421,.

So what can ebay do now? I have already got payment from Ebay. can they force me to pay them?
Or send me a notice?
