no it won't be as you will sign in only at 2'o clock. So your session would start at 2 only.:)

For N95 and N91 have a look at this thread.
Try always in Tags: type wifi n95 n91 wa3002G4 etc . You may get some old threads
. I remembered about N95 and tried the \"tags\" for following thread.

Update : while surfing came across this Nokia site Resource information: SIP VoIP Settings User Guide

Thanks for the tip and Links:)
(isn't there a 'thanks' button on this forum?)

Now i've set my WiFi to Open for all (and hackers/Thieves too )
Everythig works like a snap. Maybe these nokia phones don't go well with secured networks:( even the lightest levels of WEP encryption did'nt work.

So the only safe and simple way for me is to physically turn off the modem when not in use

thank you ..please could you tell me clearly..

In bridge mode the modem would not dial on its own.
rather its acts like a bridge between the PPPOE dialer of the computer and the ISP server/gateway. So the link between you and your ISP onlygets made when u dial with your username and pass. Once the link gets made the ISP starts to calculate the usage according to the time and data transfered. In the always on mode you would have to make modem start at 2AM and auto power off at 8AM.
In always on mode, one can also schedule a download manager or a torrent client to run at 2AM and then close at 8AM. But the there is a possibility that the windows/antivirus/antispy updates may start before 2AM adding to the billed usage.

PS - Modem running on bridge mode is just the same as running it with no account info set in it. :)

@bhvm Please download AVG Free antivirus from grisoft.com, if you don't have an antivirus program installed in your system. Also ZoneAlarm Free version Firewall program from speedbit.com. If computer is corrupted , or your N95 gets a virus, it will be a great problem later. Others accessing your WIFI network can be reduced by changing the antenna orientation . I mean keep it at 45 deg or parallel to the ground.

My Internet usage is Limited, Only an hour or so...
Hence I keep my Modem Physically powered down almost 23 hrs:redface:

Hi

I am having UTSTARCOM WA3002G4 modem, and I am unable to set the "always on" mode.
I am right now in bridge mode(ie I have to dial from PC to start the internet connection) . I tried setting the username/password in the PPPOE screen and then rebooted the modem, but still it doesn't automatically connect to internet. When I see the statistics I see the screen below

this means that the bridge mode is active rght??

Also when I see device info isee the following (when am connected to internet)

The "PPP Down" status means that PPPOE is not working rght?
How can I set PPPOE mode ( the modem to automatically dial the user name\password I specified in the settings). Is there any other configuration ?? I tried all things( Even reset the modem )

Help needed urgently

Manu

PPP Down usually come if the ISP Auth server is not working.or if you have entered incorrect user name and pass a few times. without restarting the modem. If you are sure about the US name and pass then call CC or wait it should be fixed soon.:)

Hi I already have internet working(that's how am replying to this thread now :))This has been there since they have installed, I think its rght now in bridge mode.About username and password, if I am able to login from pc , then the username and password are correct rght??Manu

yes the username and pass are correct for sure.the VPI/ VCI for your connection has to be 0/32 as thats the one which is working right now.look at the second line in your screen shot.PPPOE is running on 0/35 should be 0/32...check it out:)
