this probably means that you have configured WEP on your router and trying to connect to your router through WPA(from your computer).. so either use WEP on both router and computer .. or use WPA on both router and computer

compare instructions for Wireless setup.
For Reference : not exact. select WA3002 -G1 .

thank u.. the problem is now solved.. your link is very useful.. can you suggest additional security features that ensure only i connect to the router.. i am more concerned bcoz i found a guy in my next house with laptop..please help me.. also how to change my network key bcoz it can be easily found by others... i have configured my router in bridge mode.. using dialer to connect to web..

I use WA3002-G4 I wish to know how to turn on MAC filtering. I want to disable access to a Laptop. How do i do with this tyep of modem.

isnt MAC filtering used to filter only those MAC addresses, that are allowed to access .. i think thats how it works.. if so , type ipconfig on the command prompt of all other windows pcs on your network other than laptop.. and note down their MAC addresses, normally of the form xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx .. and enter these mac addresses in the mac filter list of your modem..

My friend brings a laptop through which he does so many downloads, sometimes without my knowledge. How can i restrict his usage at the WA3002G4 side. I know his IP address allotted and MAC address of PC through this modem. I also want to be good to him. I donot want to let him know that i am restricting his usage. Please help.

screen shots for wireless settings.

Para two : Appears your network is unsecured.
Use a secure key(WPA/WEP) and do not divulge it to strangers/friends.

Check your Wireless Network status.
"This network needs a security key .........etc "
Once you block MAC address or use security key , your friend will know about it, and as he cannot use Internet, will start tinkering with your setup!

This page doesnot talk about anything about restring access to particular PC. The Laptop in question is connected via ethernet port. And not through wireless means.Has anyone done similar configurations to their modem ? If yes please share...

@sriniraoMac address filtering appears only in Wireless settings.( REF; Chennai link given ).If under NAT or Security mac filtering option is available, kindly post a screen shot of the modem page. .
