Today was trying to shift from my static to PPPoE but each time I put the credentials in the router it simply can't connect.
Airtel Router is Nokia 2425G A
Have tried both the possible passwords { both account no prepaid one and postpaid }
but still, it won't connect.
PPPoE session is running on the Nokia modem and internet is working , I plan to dial it on my own router.

Response of router on dialing pppoe "pppoe-out1: terminating... - failed to authenticate ourselves to peer"
On Nokia Router page log section the password mentioned is my prepaid account no tried that as well . Any help would be appreciated/

First off,

  • Stop using the web ui. Install winbox and please use that or the CLI. With routeros, there is really no reason to be using webui.
  • Ping your LCO / ISP about this. Maybe you need to get mac binding reset if they use that or your username / password has not been activated yet(after switch away from static ip?). They can explain, we can't.
  • If you need more information, Run a packet capture on the underlying ethernet interface, try to connect and then look at this packet capture in wireshark. The PPP traffic will contain a more exact reason(or rather the actual reason returned by the AC at the other end) than a generic couldn't authenticate.

In the search bar at the top, type ppp press enter. There will be a set of packets when it tried to connect to AC. There you should be able to see the exact reason

@albonycal they do I took a airtel business broadband for my hospital 2 days ago tried dialling pppoe from my TP-Link it didnt work have again asked to repeat the same procedure.
Also they have changed dsl id from xxxxxxxx_dsl to xxxxxxxxxx_wifi
