Should i use my ISP's own DNS servers?

I built a custom list of available servers and then i added my own ISP's DNS servers and they turn out to be at the top every time i do a benchmark followed with OpenDNS

Is it a good idea to use there servers as compared to the giants like OpenDNS ,Cloudflare etc?
since i have seen a lot of people advice that they shouldn't use ISP given DNS servers

I see OpenDNS did the best.
Your ISP DNS gave a tough fight but it is not good with new/unique queries. (Probably because it is using Public DNS as an upstream)
ISP DNS are also known to record, block and filter your queries as they seem to suit, so I'd say use OpenDNS as primary and then Cloudflare/NextDNS DNS as backup.

I was using OpenDNS for more than 2 years until I switched to ISP provided DNS recently. The primary reason being performance. I did face random slow downs and time out a few times. Decided to switch to ISP provided DNS and it was fixed. Of course I did a DNS flush too after that.
OpenDNS has been performing great overall but internet felt snappier on ISP provided DNS. To be honest it doesn't really make a difference as most of the DNS queries are cached but some ISPs provide a bad DNS which could result in poor performance.
