i've DataOne 512kbps conn. but i don't get anything above 240kbps!!! some times the speed comes down to less than 100kbps i didn't get the modem from BSNL, but used the one i had.. D-Link DSL-500T. could this be the problem? when teh modem is active if i pick up the phone, there is static
Hey guys dont worry.call your local telephone exchange and ask them to change the telephone cable that is provided to your house from the telephone post along with the roset box(dont know the real spelling of the name of the box).From then it will be fine and u get 260+ kbps for a 256Kbps connection.It is actually free but i payed Rs. 250 to make it faster lol.My telephone wire was somewhat damaged b4 and due to rain the connection was bad.i am having a D-Link DSL-502T modem.b4 line correction my modem was able to detect ADSL signal and it connected to it.But at that time my laptop had some spyware so internet didnt work.The guy from BSNL checked using a MT 880 modem and it didnt even DETECT the ADSL signal(rofl).So whats my point is D-Link is a good modem .dont tune it up and make ur modem dumb.-to Archer.
