This is primarily for work from home. Work doesn't require any intensive computing power as such. But I'd love to carry it to cafes.

Requirements:

  • Durable
  • Lightweight
  • Decent battery backup
  • 14”
  • Not a fan of antiglare screens

I was thinking about using it for video processing occasionally (1080p, basic editing with color grading at max). And I actually was considering getting an M1 MacBook, but then I'm not sure if I wanna use it for day to day work.

Solution
M1 is great. Except that you would have to find a solution for low storage. Cloud Storage might be an option but not an elegant one.
MSI Modern 14 Core i5 11th Gen - (8 GB/512 GB SSD/Windows 10 Home) Modern 14 B11MOU-637IN Thin and Light Laptop on Flipkart

Or

MSI Modern 14 Ryzen 5 Hexa Core 4500U - (8 GB/512 GB SSD/Windows 10 Home) Modern 14 B4MW-423IN Notebook on Flipkart

Modern is military grade + dual fan. Best for Indian conditions.

@igloo how's MSI after sales support in Delhi? I have read many people complain about after sales support.
@Samuel the HP model mentioned does have 14". If portability is a concern, do look at LG gram series. Weighs only 1kg, but a bit expensive by 10k.
LG Gram 14 Intel Evo 11th Gen Core i5 14 inches Ultra-Light Laptop (8GB RAM, 512 GB SSD, Windows 10 Home, Iris Xe Graphics, Thunderbolt 4, USC -C x 2 (with Power), 0.999kg, 14Z90P, Black) https://www.amazon.in/dp/B09B7Y8HJS/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_WRXQQT7J1DVNVHQQNFEQ

Honestly it depends the laptops are great.
Currently using an 7+ year old msi fat boi laptop (imported). Still working great apart from dead battery.

On the other hand if something does happen then it's a mixed bag. I know people who got things fixed/replaced under warranty without any issues.
The reviews on the internet will be skewed since the people who had issues will be the one complaining more as compared to someone for whom there were no problems during rma.
