Solved: Split AC 1.5 ton | Voltas

My Sharp inverter AC has a bad leak in the cooling coil. So it's time to get a new one. Many users have mentioned that Voltas is a good buy considering the 5 years warranty. Kindly suggest some models?

I highly doubt that they are going to do anything about it.

They might do it. In the last service they broke one of the front grill of the window AC and they replaced it in few days.

@Md Faraz are you using Dry mode?

The technician was a nice lad, suggested me to run the AC at 24 because uske nichey koi khas farak padega hi nahi. Saved his number.

I would have bought him a chai, but he got done with work quickly and just left.

What's the set temperature when you're observing this behavior?

22°c. If I increase temp to say 24 then it happens more quickly like from 7min running to only 3-4 min running then 3 min down. Once I tried decreasing the temp to 18°, it worked fine for two nights without any cut off but then from the 3rd night it again started happening even in 18°.

No Cool mode. But happens in all modes

My old Hitachi window ac do this. I thought this was normal to maintain set temperature

Um, I thought that's how non-inverter ACs work?

@Md Faraz is this a split or window? Is the outdoor unit in well ventilated area? It is possible that the compressor is getting heat up and tripping. It had happened to me before. Problem was the ventilation and solution was to clear the area near it.

Split bro. Yes I think ODU is well ventilated , fitted in my balcony wall facing open area. I'll share the pics of it.

(AC is present just opposite side of the ODU on the other side of that Wall )

As a stop gap fix, keep one of the rooms door slightly open and see if that helps

Non-inverter ACs work that way since the compressor is a fixed speed one.

Try the lowest temperature and see if it cuts off very frequently in this case too. If yes, it could be a faulty thermostat.
