speed problem

hey guys i was using net through my home phone line(not through the p.f).but i was gettin bad speed during happy hours.so they have changed the connection to my pf no. now the speed i am getting is very low it takes almost a minute to open orkut homepage n even speed is 7-25kBps during happy hours....any idea why is this happening

This will always change,and is called DynamicIP (whenever you disconnect and connect again your Internet connection ). What is your present tariff plan and speed ?Did "they" change the telephone line connections ?What is happy hours in BSNL ?What is the modem you use ?expected max speed in ideal conditions. for 128Kbps 16KB/sec 256Kbps 32KB/sec 512Kbps 64KB/sec 2 Mbps 250KB/sec

look i was using te broadband with my existing land line.as they were unable to give the pf connection(free phone line connection comes with BB).now as i was getting low speed they have swapped the connection means they have given me the connection through my pf line.now the speed during free hours comes lower than before.


i am using bsnl H500 plan

happy hours 0200-0800 download n upload is free during this time.i am getting around 230kBps speed during non-free hours but i am getting 20KBps during free hours. i am using D-Link GLB-502T modem

Try the default values.
3. Can you program your Network connections ?

@abovei don't have splitter it didn't come with my modem.so i use Rj11 directly from phone wall to modemONE MORE SURPRISING THINGtoday i can able to download at 200KBps from link-removed but the speed cant go beyond 60KBps for any other link

okay i am goin to tell u from the beginning.one and half months back one night i found that the speed is very low around 20KBps during 0230am to 0600am.where as i was getting 230KBps b4.i have launched a complain but the problem remained d same...after that i came to know that everyone was facing the same problem with H500 bb.after some day their problem were fixed but my problem remains.though i was getting better speed like 100KBps n after 7am it raised to 200-240KBps.now when i went to local exchange to solve the problem they told me that as i am using parallel connection with my landline the speed gets reduce.so they just change the connection to my pf no.but this time i only able to get 30-50KBps flat from0200-0800.after 0800am the speed becomes normal like 200KBps...i called up the cc they said that as that was free time so every1 downloads at that time so the speed gets reduce but if the reason is true then why didnt i face the problem since beginning.i am using Bsnl bb since last 6 months.i have never experienced this kinda problem.so if u plz can suggest me what to do i'll b very much obliged.

one more thing some people have told me that may b it is happening due to temporary server maintainence....they have told me to change my dns to open dns but for me it didn't work.is there any oder solution or way to change the dns server

hey ur trick didnt work man.i have tried last two nights but speed is same.today i went to d broadband section of main office in our city.guess what the official told me as bsnl uses sharing network speed cant be more than that.is that true?beside that he started asking about my downloads n even said as that was free that cant b good.tel me what can i do now
