Stalker using Airtelboradband connection

Hi people,

I have been blogging in Hindi for long. I have been contributing for the Hindi GlobalVoices website. Once I published a translated post on some pedophile in Maldives Global Voices ?????? ??? ??????: ??? ??? ?????? ?? ????? ????? and noticed some very strange comments being posted there that seem to talk filthy about kids. I immediately posted on my Hindi blog ?????????? ~ Hindi Blog ??????? ?????? ???????? ?? ?????? ?????? ?? ??? ???? about the incident.

After this incident this stalker started posting nasty or unnecessary comments on almost all of my websites. For quite some time I would simply delete the comments but most recently he posted some very nasty comment saying "send me your kid and I will molest him" and he gave a complete postal address of someone in Bhopal (its mentioned on my website that I am originally from Bhopal).

I can almost always recognize his comments by the total disconnect from the topic being discussed and by the fact that in the URL field s/he always enters the location (example: OpenDNS) probably to emphasize his/her IP.

Wordpress also sends an email notification for comment moderation and I get to see two IPs there (I assume s/he is using dynamic IP but I don't know much about it). One IP is always the one that matches with the location he mentions (and I believe is fake one because he keeps on changing it), whois therefore is of no use. The other one (and I searched it at this website NetIP.de - India - abts-kk-dynamic-180.31.172.122.airtelbroadband.in) is always from Delhi. (recent example below, where the URL is absent but I know from the comment that its him, the name & email IDs are obviously fake )

I had written this entire story to airtelbroadband grievance cell but nothing happened. I contacted cyber-crime police at Pune but they cannot go ahead unless I file a FIR, a thing I cannot do.

How can I catch hold of this guy? :redface:

this is some serious stuff.I advise you to file and fir and contact media.dont worry about legalities,you have law on your side.

yeap. without an FIR, there is nothing any entity would do to help you out. you would be lucky to get any help with the FIR itself. filing FIR itself is a painful process. no police station wants that.

I guess 122.172.31.180 is a karnataka based IP, not delhi based

try doing a range ban.from 122.172.1.1 - 122.172.x.xit will ban all people joining from that ip range..better that you google it out how to range ban. i dont remember the method well enough that i could describe it here.

that would ban a lot of other airtel broadband users from accessing the blog. banning does not really help as proxies come handy. the best one can do is to ignore such members. i have received a lot of hate mail in the past. ignoring is the best option. unless you are serious about taking the help of cops which could turn out to be a painful experience.

Ya, just ignore it. If you can't ignore it, then FIR is the only option.

If you want the spam to stop use Akismet plugin for Wordpress. It does wonders for me, and it learns as you go. So any person blocked once will be blocked automatically next time.
