Static IP Activation Process

I want to get Static IP, because I have some self-hosted services that I want to safely expose to the internet. However, I have a couple of concerns before I apply for it.
Currently, I'm using the XZ000-G3 V1 as the ONT and dial PPPoE from my TP-Link Archer C6 V2. Internet access is important as my sister have long hours of meetings daily, so I need the transition to Static IP to be without any downtime. Will it be seamless, or I'll have no internet access for days until my request is successfully processed?
Should I mention to the Airtel Customer Care that I use my own ONT and Router, so they just need to provide me the static IP details and I'll configure the WAN config myself and I don't need any technician visit? Or, do I reintroduce the Nokia G-2425G-A in my network setup for the time being, and after they TR069 the WAN config for static IP, I copy them to my router? WAN Settings and even basic config like DNS and DHCP are locked out in that crap, so I guess the technician won't be visiting?

Right now, port forwarding works only on some higher ports like 8000, 9000, 9001, etc. and all lower ports are blocked as well as common ports like 80, 443, 853, 8080, 8443 are blocked. These ports don't work even in my TP-Link routers, so that must mean it's blocked from the ISP side itself. I expect static IP does have these ports configurable, so the user can decide if the router firewall should allow certain ports or not, without calling customer care. Yes, it's basic expectations from static IP, but it's Indian ISPs we're talking about, so I want to confirm that beforehand.

Lastly, about 2 years ago, when I requested static IP directly from the Airtel engineer in my locality, he gave me the mail id of a certain person, probably a backend engineer, but he never responded after multiple mails and I gave up. How do I request for Static IP now? And, in the future if I ever feel that it's causing me issues, can I revert back or cancel it?

@Rickysin which ONT do you use? As for me, since yesterday my G3V1 isn't working.

The issue is that the LAN light on the G3V1 turns completely off, as soon as it establishes O5 state.
I tried completely resetting to factory settings, and the first boot after reset will obviously have the default SN of TP-Link, so it established a fake O5 and LAN was working. I entered the GPON details like SN and Vendor ID, and after re-registering with the updated GPON details, LAN went down after O5 was established. The only time LAN lights work is if I reboot and keep fiber disconnected, so it can't register with OLT.

And, since LAN doesn't work when it reaches O5, the router obviously says that WAN is disconnected.

The entire fiasco begins only with Alcatel-Lucent tbh!

oh, and my G3 was working perfectly fine since I bought it. Yesterday, they provided me the Static IP details and I tried to configure it, but it didn't work, cuz they provided me wrong details to begin with but I didn't know at that point, so thought I must be doing something wrong.

So, they said to unplug third-party ONTs and plug back the Nokia ONT and they'll configure it from the backend. Also, asked if I want to enable bridge mode, and it was a sweet offer anyway (cuz I thought the issue was ALCL VLAN Randomization on G3 maybe), so I agreed .

Later, when I plugged back the G3, the LAN wouldn't work on O5. Well, everything would have been perfect and so drama and misunderstandings and frustrations, had they provided the correct IP details. After all, they only had one job.

@sannidhyz mostly your VLAN must be changed from earlier one after static IP activated. Do fresh VLAN search in your G3 and try.

i am using TP-Link g7 and its working fine from more than 1 year. OLT is ALCL.

vlan tag is still 100 for me and works with tplink ax10 establising pppoe for both ipv4/v6.

Airtel engineers even upgraded equipment in my area and still g7 works and this upgrade from airtel increased optical power from -20 dbm to -14 dbm with stable power.

This is the first time in airtel that i am seeing -14 dbm power lol

hmm, Based on various forum posts, G7 is not working with ALCL and mostly conclusion was, if VLAN 100 works then its either Huawei or ZTE OLT and G7 working means, it confirms that

@hariselio My VLAN had changed when Airtel Executes made the first call to me regarding my email, asking me if should proceed with Static IP allocation. When I confirmed, an hour later, my internet went down. G3 VLAN Scan showed that it changed to 2900. Earlier it was 2510 and I had been using that VLAN since, the time I got the G3.

So, I don't think this is due to VLAN Change. That day PPPoE was working, and the next day they provided me Static IP details (they mistyped ip), which didn't work for me. Only after they told me to remove third-party ONUs and connect Nokia ONT, and I did so.

Well, the Nokia ONT was connected to fiber for a long time, about 7 hours approx. After which, when I connected G3, LAN didn't work when O5 is reached. It works during O1 till O4 or when fiber is disconnected.

So, the suspicion is what happened during Nokia ONT was connected for 7 hours. Maybe they did something from the backend. Maybe bridge mode activation messed it up?

And, even if VLAN changed, at least I should be able to access the LAN port. If the LAN port goes down, I can't access the Web UI and do a VLAN Scan.

After, multiple tries last night with members from Geeky Twins Discord Server, that's what we narrowed down the issue to. Maybe bridge mode?

@Rickysin how do you know that your OLT is ALCL, if you have a G7? AFAIK, you can use telnet commands to get OLT information in VSOL or HSGQ. G7 doesn't have telnet or ssh access, and I never tried UART in my G3, so idk.

@sannidhyz Just FYI, if your main purpose to expose internal services to the internet, you could look at Private networks. I would think its cheaper than paying for a static IP address.
