Hello,

I need to buy new AC for 190 sqft room top floor (sun directly hits the roof). So I know I need at least 2 Ton, but confusion is many people says that few brands 1.5 Ton AC's cooling is equivalent to 2 Ton in the other. So which brand I need and what tonnage?

A bit history on why I want new AC.
My first AC was 1.5 ton Voltas non inverter, It ran good the first year but cooling reduced from next year.
Many technicians have visited only to tell me that my AC is running perfectly. God knows what happened. But it won't chill the room as it used to do before and the compressor continues to run and room temp goes down but very slow. After so many diagnostics I came to a conclusion that because the unit was not vacuumed at install time, it's cooling efficiency was reduced but all technicians deny this fact. But I don't want to waste anymore time and money on this, I would rather buy new. My current AC already 5 years old now but this problem started happening since 2020, I bought it in 2019. In a nutshell I want to avoid this voltas brand all together.

Back to where we were, this post is about which brand's AC is must buy and what tonnage do I need 1.5 or 2 and it's cooling capacity, I want non inverter only.

Regards!

You can get the ODU cleaned completely if not tried this yet.
Got the machine serviced in March both indoor and outdoor. They are neat and clean with good airflow.
Already tried everything else in the list, only this vaccum thing remains.

@anmolbhard004 only get it installed from bluestar directly by calling support, they will do the rest. I guess they issue some warranty certificate via email. Read tncs on site.

Don't get it installed from Jeeves aka flipkart, they'll claim themselves as official installer.

So I did the vacuum thing. Removed the gas and did vacuum and refilled fresh gas. Performance instead of increasing it got decreased, now grill temp is 15 C after waiting for 10 minutes, it won't drop room temp past 31 C. I think it's about time I give up on this machine. It worked good while it lasted.

May be a good practice but don't think vacuuming would make a huge difference. Recently repaired one AC and the technician is very good, my regular guy for fridge and ac repair. he did the vacuuming on his own. This guy is the best guy seriously he will pull out all components to do deep cleaning and won't do "chalu kaam".

But during installation don't think LG or Daikin guys did it.

Even the company technicians don't do work properly and you cannot have knowledge about everything :cautious:
