in the Video they are doing Defrag on SSD's. Defrag is not required on SSD's as it reduces it's life

of course. but you also do not need to open 50 apps at the same time on your computer right?

they were just showing how fast data transfer is on an ssd. and defrag is one of the most intensive data transfer thing to do on a disk.

I think SSDs store files in a intelligent manner, so it requires no disk defrag. I guess thats why disk defrag is so fast on SSDs.
 
there are no moving parts. that's why they are speedy. on a regular hdd. the spindle has to access different parts of the drive mechanically which adds the lag and results in wear and tear.
 


When would the HDD prices come down to last years level?It has almost been an year since the thailand flood and still the HDD cost is twice it was earlier. I am begining to wonder whether the prices would come back down at all. Since the SSD entered the market, has the HDD manufactures decided to get the maximum profit for their products.
 
bitcase i think is going to cost USD 10 per month. and it is not really designed for our internet connections.

That's the truth. They even reduced the warranty period.
