Mani Ratnam’s Ravan stirs another controversy

The Ahmednagar forest officials have filed a case against the Ravan team for erecting a film set inside the jungle. From what we hear from our sources, when the forest officers came to know about the sets that were erected without obtaining proper permission for filming a few scenes of Ravan, they immediately filed a case against eleven of the crew members.
It is worth a mention here that this is not the first time the Mani Ratnam directed Ravan is running into trouble. Earlier, the team ran into trouble with the forest officials in Ernakulam for chopping off tress without permission

Prabhudeva Wanted

After reaping commercial success in both Telugu and Tamil, the inevitable is happening to Prabhudeva’s Pokkiri. Boney Kapoor is remaking the movie in Hindi under the name Wanted with Salman Khan and the recently married Ayesha Takhia in the lead, directed by Prabhudeva. The movie’s promos and song footages are already on air and the release date is being finalized.
Speaking to the press on his maiden venture in Hindi, Prabhudeva mentioned that he had put in more efforts for Wanted since he knew the fan base is huge and the fans are more demanding than their regional counterparts. Some learning, we say!

Unnai Pol Oruvan’s audio to hit stands

Unnai Pol Oruvan’s audio launch is scheduled to be held at a 5-star hotel in Chennai on August 31st. This venture, which has been jointly produced by Raj Kamal Films and UTV Motion Pictures, has Kamal Haasan, Mohanlal, Venkatesh, Ganesh Venkatraman, Anuja Iyer, Nassar and Lakshmi in the star cast.
Industry sources say that the audio launch will be an unusual affair sans any lengthy speeches by the film personalities present at the venue. Also special arrangements have been made to ensure that the media persons cover the news without the usual hullabaloo.
The film has been directed by Chakri Toleti and Murugan has written the dialogues.
Shruti Haasan has scored the
music for Unnai Pol Oruvan, while the songs have been penned by Kamal Haasan, Blaze and Manushyaputhran. Camera has been handled by Manoj Soni and Rameshwar is in charge of editing.
Stunts have been choreographed by Horse Babu and Andy. The film’s PRO is Nikhil.

Salman Khan is not Suriya

Dispelling all speculations that he has approached Salman Khan for the Hindi remake of Ayan, director KV Anand said that the actor would not suit the character played by Suriya. With Ayan turning out to be a
mega hit, there were widespread reports that the film could be remade in Hindi.
The director also said that he has no intentions of remaking the film, as he prefers to concentrate on fresh projects. This cinematographer turned director revealed that he would start a venture with Suriya next year after the actor completes his assignment with director AR Murugadoss.
