Parties’ counsel submit that this matter has been settled on the following terms:

Tata Sky will pay on the basis of each viewing subscriber for the pack of 15 channels (comprising 11 pay channels and 4 FTAs) listed as follows:

“SUN TV, KTV, SUN MUSIC, SUN NEWS, GEMINI TV, TEJA TV, GEMINI MUSIC, GEMINI NEWS, UDAYA TV, UDAYA NEWS, UDAYA VARTHAGALU, SURYA TV, KIRAN TV, UDAYA II and CHUTTI TV.”

The said channels will be offered in the proposed south-entry tier pack(s) and shall be open for subscribers all over India. All these channels will be offered by Taka Sky only as a combined pack and not individually. If any of the current FTA channels go pay in future, mutual negotiations will be undertaken by both parties while adhering to the applicable regulations.

The actual per subscriber price and the final date of delivery of the signals has been agreed as per the emails exchanged on August 19th, 2007 between Mr Vikas Bali representing Tata Sky and Mr Vittal Sampathkumar representing Sun Network.”

The parties will be bound by the above settlement. The petition stands disposed of.
In view of the main case having been disposed of, the M.As./E.A. also stand disposed of.

not someone, its me who posted that news :)

It is well known thing that Dish tv will add Sun channels. For all those dancing Tata Sky customers: You all should have thought atleast for a second that "If a greedy who is not even willing to pay money to others and not at all thinking about its customers like Tatasky can get channels in their DTH then that means any DTH can get those channels."Who knows may be this time too Dish tv might win by adding Sun channels first. Mind you Tatasky doesn't have any free Tps left and Dish tv has 1 more Tp left.If Tatasky adds Sun channels then definetly they will loose some picture quality.

hmmm

What rubbish?12 transponders * 12 channels = 144 channels. Drop the radio channels from the current channel count. They are only audio streams. Bandwidth requirement is minimal. So Tata-Sky is currently broadcasting 119 - 8 = 111 channels (including the absolutely idiotic Showcase channels. They should be called Mentalcase). And some channels (mostly Zee) are anyway being broadcast at lower bitrates. There is not going to be any picture quality loss on the mainstream channels. There is still some room to play with.
