hi alli am currently on 747NU plan and im into alot of multiplayer gaming so it gets used alot so i would like to know if switching to 512KBPS plan will make my pings go even higher or will it not matter much. Thanks,

Hiya,

Assuming you're switching from a 2 MBPS connection to a 512 MBPS connection, I'd say it's going to have a considerable effect on pings.

I'm a hardcore multiplayer gamer myself. As far as I know - there are two major things you should keep in mind:

[*]Firstly - pings can differ according to the game, if it's a HD (High-Definition) game like Perfect World, you'll need a really good connection to have a safe ping. However if its a low-res game like Ragnarok, you won't need a killer connection. This is linked with the performance of your PC, which can have a noticable effect on your pings too.
[*]Secondly - distance always matters! For example, if you're playing with someone from the US you'll have a high base ping, and only the differences may vary with your connection speed.
[/list]The latter has more effect on your pings than the former.

lol..u getting only 30 kbps more with more than double the amount in 512 Kbps..i suggest u change to 256 Kbps..im a heavy downloader too..but i think 600 is much better than what u pay for the 512 Kbps plan

well if its unlimited then y not go for the 256 Kbps plan.. its much cheaper..downloading fast wont help greatly..even with this plan u can download all u want with more than half the price..
i would never spend that much just for speeds when im getting the same after waiting for some more time..
