Happens if you use headphone or ear phones extensively at loud volumes. Ditto with speakers. But your problem seems to be different. I faced it and it went away automatically. It seemed to be an inner ear infection of sort in my case. The ENT will advise correctly.
Tinnitus is a continuous EEEEEEEEEEE sound or a sense of ringing in the ears that does not go away. It has no known cure. I have a very mild case after long stints of listening to rock and other music on speakers and cans but not at excessive volumes. Even duration of exposure matters. Also don't forget to turn down that car stereo
Be very cautious with those noise cancelling earphone and headphones. They increase the pressure within the cup or in the ear canal when NC is switched on. My SonyANC headphones and earphones are most guilty of doing this and I like some other users have faced issues of temporary tinnitus lasting hours after using them. I make sure they are used very little and prefer open back or non NC cans. Don't compensate for surrounding noise with the volume control.
@AAK If you hear or perceive unusual sounds give your Dr a visit if it doesn't go away within 7-10 days.
I have had tinnitus for 10 years, if you go to a ENT they will do a Audimentry test to confirm the cause. In my case it was hear loss probaly due to non stop headphone use , listening to music on max volume.
Not really..it's not a boolean thing....all you need to do is just listen at moderate volume & nothing happens. The iPhone and other mobiles warn you if you turn the volume up too loud. They have volume limiters too. I am cautious about headphone and earphone use...moderate volumes and for moderate durations. All it takes is a warning sign like tinnitus to make you wake up before permanent hearing loss occurs. I kid you not guys ease off on the sound volume and exposure to loud noise or music.
Happened to me around 2-3 weeks ago. Suddenly a whistle sound buzzing in my left ear & it nearly killed me from the sound (it was so intense). I slept thinking it'll go away in the morning. It was gone but not fully.
It was still audible but as days passed I forgot about it and I think the sound also got vanished. But today when I read the title of this thread & @Sushubh 's first message... It again started in my left ear but not that much. Feels like we both are in the same boat.
My background - I don't use TWS that much... Only while going to college while riding that too in one ear that too because I hate traffic noises. At home I mostly use phone speakers & sometimes loudspeakers to listen to music. Wired earphones haven't been used since 2020. But used to listen to a lot of rock music at loud noises before 2021.
Not being Juhi Chawla guys but 5G might be the reason for all this in people these days ...
