All , one question on BSNL FTTH. Is it possible to connect a normal landline phone directly into RJ 11 port of the modem or does that need a VOIP phone ?

That's pretty weird. Is your modem supplied by BSNL? In that case, try plugging in the telephone into the first telephone port of the modem. Mine is a simple telephone provided by BSNL and works just fine.

There is no dial tone. Just a constant tone. Dial a number and everything will work if the configuration has been done.

i figure it out bro and i m using my landline telephone set but voice is no so loud and clear ,so i was thinking may be it will work properly with voip phone.i have to buy new telephone set as i m going to surrender my bsnl landline and broadband

should i buy some voip phone or buy some landline telephone set?please advice

Just noticed you changed the question. In my case I am using an old phone from my BSNL landline connection too and voice is as clear as it gets and loudness is okayish. Get a phone with called id and it will be fine.
