Hi all,
I had recently taken an Airtel Xstream Broadband connection with 100 Mbps plan. To save on the installation cost, I took the 3 month advance rental plan (ARP). At the time of installation, I was told that I could change the ARP plan to a monthly plan after 3 months.
Today, when I called to change my plan ARP to monthly plan, the customer care person told me that there is no monthly plan available for 100 Mbps (Rs. 799 per month)!!! I had to either take a lower plan (50 Mbps at Rs. 699 per month) or a higher plan (200 Mbps at Rs. 999 per month).
If you log in to the Airtel website, it clearly shows a Standard plan for Rs. 799 monthly rental. What they have cleverly failed to mention is that you can only continue to avail this plan if you pay advance rental for 3 months.
I have been really happy with Airtel and their broadband connection so far and I will continue using their services, but these billing tactics have put a sour taste in my mouth.
If someone can shed a little more light on this issue, that'll be really helpful. Thank you.
