Hi,

So after sending email to Airtel support. They enabled bridge mode for me on all 4 ports on my Nokia G-2425G-A.

They provided PPPoE username and password, and asked me to enable bridge mode in my Nokia GPON by going to Network then Lan and enable bridge mode. I enabled Bridge mode on Port 2,3,4. And left Port 1 on route mode.

However, I can't connect to the Internet with any port.

Both my PC and Mac, when connected via ethernet to Nokia router, on lan 2,3,4 shows not connected. And the Led on Airtel router is also not blinking for these ports.

But Lan 1 is getting connected in route mode, however internet is not working there as well.

Even tried hooking my D-Link dir 1960 router. With these PPPoE credentials. But nothing works.

What can I do?

after putting all details and connecting the cables try restarting sometimes a simple restart fixes everything.

also I assume you double checked the username and password and did you got your prepaid converted to postpaid?

also dont tag vlan in your D-Link router I think its tagged by default in Nokia correct me if wrong anyone.

@alexsh04 I have the same Nokia router and it works flawlessly. I dont think they've enabled bridge mode yet though they believe they have. BTW it's bridge LAN port is always port #4 which is their standard config Set the other ports to routed mode. Save the config and reboot the Airtel router when done.

Also remember other than PPPoE username and password you do not need to enter any other Airtel specific information like VLAN # for WAN settings in your D-Link. DNS servers of your choice can be specified if you wish.

Please raise a complaint with 121 if nothing works.

@Chip Yes I definitely think Airtel botched it up. I tried doing that but it didn't work. Let's see, I have a visit scheduled for today.

Also, when entering the username do I have to add @airtelboardband.in at the end?

Like for example [email protected]

Or is it without the @ etc?

@alexsh04 Yes you do need to add the complete ID including airtelbroadband.in. If you haven't done this, it maybe the reason you aren't getting connected.

In Nokia ONU , look for the led. it should lit up for whatever port you are connecting to.

Lets say if you have put the PORT 4 on bridge on ONU and connected your laptop. LAN 4 light will lit up. If it doesn't, either you have a bad cable or PORT 4 is not enabled for bridge from back-end.
