Well, technically, not my phone. But, I guess that is not the point of discussion here. So, moving on..

i) Accessories - Headset, Charger .. Thats it.. Not that was expecting anything else.
ii) Played a few HD videos. No lag.
iii) There were couple of games - Played the cricket game. There was a slight lag. Dad wanted the games to be removed (as to keep kids away from his prized possession) , so helped him do that
iv) Photos looks good, but then I am not good at taking photos. But attached a couple, so maybe you can judge.
v) Sound is a little less, not bad. But I feel at max. level, it should be 30% more.
vi) Dont think they have added any Custom UI. Just some minor customization. Just a few pre-loaded apps apart from Google ones.
vii) Internet browsing is just fine. Downloads & especially Installation looks superfast compared to his old HTC Wildfire phone
viii) Used live wallpapers for a while & the battery drained like crazy. Back to normal wallpaper, but still it seems it drains quiet fast. Need to check if some app is causing a problem. But then, the phone is in use for the past few hours continuously.
ix) Price - 13990. Would say VFM. Delivery was quick from Snapdeal. Bought on Early hours of 14th & delivered by noon of 16th
x) @admin - No its not that thin, but quite similar to Galaxy Note if you can compare. And there is no one coming out of the phone in a ski as well.

Question on phone storage. I inserted a 2 GB SD card. And now storage shows

Phone Storage - 0.98 GB, 704 MB available
Internal SD - 1.77 GB, 1.67 available
External SD - 1.84 GB, 0.92 GB available

So.. What is the difference between "Phone Storage" & "Internal SD"

Also, do let me know if any specific queries.

Here are the photos that I took. I guess it shows that there is one career I cannot possibly switch to, if I want.

You never know. You may start seeing some up to date custom ROMs for it. Even the Mircomax A90 and A110 have some custom ROMs. And I feel that Micromax will at least provide the 4.2 update to the Canvas HD in future.

There would certainly be Custom ROMs for this device on XDA, as previous devices are getting them, with specs so tempting, developers would port ROMs easily as it would not need extreme debugging.Anyways, Canvas HD is available again at snapdeal at the time of this post. book one if you need it.

I had never heard of Micromax before, came to know from Flipkart nd this Forum Lately, MX is Fully Suitable for the Aam Common Janta of India like the previous generations Nokia Phones, hope they compete with the Giant companies in the coming years with their awesome Specs, they Just need to make their Display and Resolution in HD, it would be the best.

Ok.. Someone wanted a photo taken while on the move. Asked my dad, but he forgot. However, here is another general photo for you to help decide better. Also, battery is still a concern, though I suspect it could be some app that has been downloaded that is causing the problem. He had Wi-Fi & GPS on always, so asked him to switch on only when planning to use it & that I will have a look at the phone for any battery issues over the weekend.

And an Indian tech site is praising Samsung Galaxy Grand in comparison to Canvas HD :suicide:

Grand is nothing special for which someone should pay 21000.

Undoubtedly canvas HD is awesome choice to own an android .

Absolutely. Grand was obsolete at a moment it was launched. Micromax had A116 almost ready. I was really expecting Grand to cost ~16-17K. Now there is cannibalization and because of that, S3's sales would affect. It is now way answer to MMX offering by looking at price. And not to mention, other Indian companies (in co-operation with chinese ODMs) too are launching new devices and exploring new feature set at such a pace. And quality to price ratio is just phenomenal. Xolo A700 is one such device.

Can you please post a un-resized, unedited pic, it would be around 2MB at least.
