User Review: Samsung Galaxy S II

I just want root access to my S2, I dont want to use other ROM right now. Is it possible? If yes then how? I just want to disable some boot apps,enable avast firewall and install good backup software(which as I know require root access)

@Jaymin: As you own S2 and I guess its rooted, so I need your kind advise specially about the pros/cons of rooting.

Thank you Manu and Toocool, I installed the APK and triangle is gone after running and rebooting. btw manu what to do with that param.tar? do I need to install it?1 problem I found in flashing with ROM, I not able to change the lock screen wallpaper, however there is option to change lock screen wallpaper but it was showing same wallpaper I set for home scree., anyone/jaymin having same issue? I am using go launcher instead of stock apex launcher, I disabled Go and used apex but result is same. Rest everything is fine and smooth till now.

I dont see any problem with the yellow triangle.....i look at it as a sort of status symbol that i have rooted my phone & have a custom ROM! Btw, i have never found an option to change the lock screen wallpaper......r u using any different locking software? I did see that option in-built in JB, but havent found it in ICS.....or may be i havent got that deep into it! The lock screen wallpaper for me is the ICS default.

Using built in lock screen, in stock ics it was working fine, I used to have two different wallpaper for home and lock screen.. Btw thx bro for that custom rom suggestion, till now i am happy after rooting and installing rom. Can you please tell me some other good rom? Is there any good custom jb rom?

Good to hear! Now u will never switch back to any Stock ROM ever. Atleast not in Samsung phones.For JB....as i had mentioned in my thread and few other posts - i have certain things that were nagging me in it - No Wi Fi Direct (I do use it quite a few times!), inability to connect phone to PC as a "Mass Storage Device", and somehow, the volume output was too low. Dont know what cud be the reason - may be i would have been lazy to go that much in detail to check, but i still tried various stuff, all in vain - no increase in sound output.So i actually downgraded from JB to ICS! Just like how we hear people downgrading from iOS 6 to iOS 5!

I too started feeling that I wont go back to stock. Ok. Forget jb till we get stable one.. Any other good ics rom which you would like to name? Just for try otherwise this one is good.
