User Review: Samsung Galaxy S II

I just want root access to my S2, I dont want to use other ROM right now. Is it possible? If yes then how? I just want to disable some boot apps,enable avast firewall and install good backup software(which as I know require root access)

@Jaymin: As you own S2 and I guess its rooted, so I need your kind advise specially about the pros/cons of rooting.

Be careful while updating to 4.0.4, its buggy and not able to read serial numbet of your phone. Some have reported bricked phone after updating, I read somewhere on net about it.Better skip this update and wait for JB release of you want to be with stock rom.

Apart from the serial number bug, 4.0.4 seems pretty awesome ! Much much better battery life

Flashed with 4.1.2 stock... Ugliest UI! Its faster but not buttery smooth! Will test for week than back to CM 10.1! CM 10.1 is far smoother!

.. Have you tested twitter with Hindi tweets... Worst Hindi support as well as English fonts aren't smoother too... Settings look awful... It depends on the choices though.Already back on cm after using it for 2-3hr.
