I just want root access to my S2, I dont want to use other ROM right now. Is it possible? If yes then how? I just want to disable some boot apps,enable avast firewall and install good backup software(which as I know require root access)

Some other queries are:

[*]where can I download stock ICS ROM for S2(India)(in case I want to rollback(unroot) I may require this ROM)?

@Jaymin: As you own S2 and I guess its rooted, so I need your kind advise specially about the pros/cons of rooting.

iCon has gone crazy. First he used to refrain from flashing. Once learnt, he is beating most of us on the number of flashes! I wud want to see ur flash count somehow! :D
 
Seriously I have become flasholic. :(May be crossed 30-50.. and there is more bad news.. I am learning android programming...reading whatever material available..:D
 
Flashed supernexus 2.0(4.2.2) today...i have always played around with kernels only, this is my first rom..
liking it so far but iam missing samsung keyboard

i stopped visiting XDA after our thread went down, and the group was also inactive....
