Me from kolkata too. i'm also getting avg speed of 24KBps during free hours. during nu hours it's working fine though...Is this problem only occuring in kol????

Try Optimizing your internet connection using software like Full Speed (www.getfullspeed.com) and see if you get any improvement.

now even though we get moderate speeds durin night hours....thy r limited 2 dl..usin torrents or accelerators...but surfing s really slow even usin 3rd party DNS like openDNS....it takes 5 min to open a site though sl speed hovers arnd 80-100 KB/s....i thnk bsnl guys r chokin HTTP ports (80) during nite time....

So what can we do about it??? i told the bsnl guys my problem almost 2 weeks before. They told me that their server is having problems and will get back to normal in 2-3days. but the problem is still occuring!

Hi guys

I also get horrible download speed for torrents but from other https servers it is nearly 1.5Mbps even during nights.

RS will never give you proper download speeds as by default they have choked bandwidth for the free users.

You can try Speedtest.net's Thailand server to get your somewhat accurate DL and UL speeds.

Regarding torrents, try the OpenOffice.org's latest version torrent and see what you get as UL and DL.

Though I am also suspecting that BSNL is playing foul with us andmaybe throttling the DL speed.

Lets see the other inputs here. :)[/b]

I get 28-32 kilo bytes per second from link-removed , all the time

Hi,

Yesterday I started using my Home Combo 500 plans from BSNL.

I was getting very good speed through out the day, full 1.5-2 Mbps.

Today morning I checked my Service Records at dataone.in and the session was active from day before yesterday and was lasting for more than 40 hours.

So I thought, for getting the actual download within the happy hours, I will reboot my router after 2pm (system time), and now at 3:18am am getting:

https://www.speedtest.net

Now tomorrow I'm gonna check what they (BSNL) are up to. I decided not to restart the router tomorrow after 2am.

But again that will a problem in calculating the data downloaded during hh as in my case that particular session took almost a GB after putting a lot of effort to control the data transfer rate.

You can never trust BSNL.

Anyhow, I will let you know the results tomorrow.

Cheers.

@isurfWelcome to BroadbandForum.inEnsure you do not exceed the free day Download allowed for your Tariff plan. You may be connected for 40 hours and if you have downloaded also for 40 hours ( not likely )What is the total D/L and U/L ? used in day time ?Check day speed also.

yes u r right....me too "after 2" problem
day time im getting almost 2 - 3mbps ,(downloading @ 240-400kbps, depends on torrent/ seed/ server)

but night time horrible.. it got disconnected every now & then
with lots of error in re-connecting like access denied, invalid domain, line busy .... to name a few. and speed also drastically low around 17- 18kbps (download speed, same torrent, same number of seed ).

night unliited starts@256oly .. no higher speed

I have H500, (Pune) I get avg 150-200KBps in 2-8 period with upload speed upto 80-85KBps on utorrent.
