There are major scams going on at VFS Global and the top of them is Courier Assurance Fee.
When you apply for a Visa, VFS is supposed to collect the documents and pass it on to the respective embassy. The courier charges are included in the application fee (AFAIK). However, VFS Global levies a Courier Assurance fee on top of that, and if you ask them to remove it, they will tell you it's mandatory contrary to what it says on the website. One of the people applying for a Visa and opted out of it, and the result was, VFS told him that the 'courier' services have been canceled for him because he has opted out of the 'Courier Assurance' service.
