Videocon D2H DTH: Clarity Issue

congrattes kartik!@ jaymini think i read on different forum that there is a matter called buffer which can affect record capacity. actually it use for run time recording (live) to pause / forward/ backword. check in settings how much time is set for buffer. 71 hours are very injustice time for dvr user. i need urgent answer on this solution. i am confused to choose either between adtv dvr (generally preferred) & d2h dvr (technically preferred). with adtv dvr i can get 550 hours then more than 71 hours & picture quality hope better than d2h.Thanks.
 
One way of resolving audio/video sync in DVR... Pause the live TV for few seconds. Then press on live TV. This gets back the audio/video in sync. Try and let me know if it worked for you guys also.
 
Airtel advt shows 550 hours, we dont know what will be recording hours... D2H shows 200 hours, it will be less when you record HD channels... but box shows only 71 hours....any Airtel users here to comment this?
 
@ Recording capacity.....I really dont see the need to record even beyond 25 odd hours at a time. So i have never tried & i dont have any issues either. If i dont need some facility, y shud i fight for it? But yes, if u people need, then do drop in an email to the CC. lets see what they have to say. I too wud ask the engineer when he comes, may be next weekend now!@ vvh80....Even i do that. Press the rewind button, and instantly press the play button, and it goes fine after that, until i change the channel & come back.
 
These ppl r not in a mood to solve my issue. I m now shooting off a mail to TRAI. They r still telling me that its broadcaster's issue. Enuf is enuf.
 
@JayminLast two days i am also facing Voice syn problem in Star Movies... i used to change +1 channel and come back, it will become normal for some time... again the same exercise.... maybe the real problem with the STAR Group but D2H is responsible for that as we are paying extra as customer like me i subscribe HD Globe to get these channels, so either they have to extend the validity or do not charge until the channels are properly sync.... send a mail to TRAI....
 
But if problem is with Star then y isnt Mascot or Ashish or anyone isnt facing it?
Y aren't any Tata Sky or Reliance users facing it??
Moreover they close my complaint without visiting my place. Looks like its the time forum teach lesson to the area heads here.

Ok. So here is the complain that i have sent to TRAI, CC of D2h, & also to that Kiran, who is some area head or something......

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am a user of HD DVR of Videocon D2h since February 2011. My customer id is xxxxxxxx. I have been facing a few serious quality issue since about 2-3 months now, which HAS NOT BEEN SOLVED TILL YET BY the Service Provider.

The complaint is in respect of Star Asli HD channels -
1) Star Plus HD
2) Star Gold HD
3) Star Movies HD
4) Star World HD.

Problems i face are:

a) There is an Audio-Video mismatch on transmission. The video comes first, and its corresponding audio comes at some delay. It keeps increasing gradually, and does not rectify. THIS PROBLEM IS THERE ON ONLY THESE 4 CHANNELS.

b) Next: The 4 channels show me an option to select "Dolby Digital" Audio feed. But when i select it, the Audio is completely lost. I have to switch over to normal feed, to be able to listen to the content in the channel.

Phase 1

This problem first appeared around 10th or 11th August 2011. After about a week of tolerating, i lodged my complaint with D2h. They clearly mentioned that they would look into the matter. If you need, i have a copy of the correspondence with D2h.

They sent an engineer, he checked and HE ALSO AGREED THAT THE PROBLEM IS GENUINE, and left, telling me that some senior would come. But few days later, i was INFORMED OVER PHONE THAT MY COMPLAINT IS CLOSED.

Phase 2

Fed up of the issue, i lodged another series of complaints on September 10, 2011. Again the same cycle. An engineer came, he agreed with my issue & said that some senior would come to solve it. But that never happened, and the complaint was again closed without my approval.

Phase 3

On October 8, i again lodged a complaint, FOR THE SAME ISSUES. Again an engineer came, he agreed and told me that some senior would come to solve the issue. But that senior never came to my place to check it. And today, i got an email from that mentioning that my Complaint is closed. PLEASE REFER THE TRAILING MAILS TO VERIFY THIS.

Now, i have a few questions here:

1) WHY dont i, as a CUSTOMER PLACING COMPLAINT, have any right to approve whether my complaint has been solved to my satisfaction or not. WHY DO THEY CLOSE THE COMPLAINT, WITHOUT SENDING ANY SENIOR PERSON TO MY PLACE, TO LOOK INTO THE ISSUE? I SUSPECT SOME SERIOUS FOUL PLAY BEING DONE BY MR. KIRAN, MR. MANISH & FEW OTHERS, WHO ARE CURRENTLY LOOKING AFTER THE AREA IN WHICH I LIVE. MR. KIRAN IS A HIGHER LEVEL OFFICER, AND HE NEVER LISTENS TO MY PROBLEMS.

2) The reason they always give is that its a matter with Channel provider. But let me clarify here the problem is not with the channel provider. Many other D2h subscribers are not facing such issue. not even a single user of other dth like Tata Sky or Reliance Digital is facing this issue.
Why is it that only me, and a handful of others are facing this issue? To provide evidence to my claim, i am giving you a link of an Internet Forum, where we discuss our issues:

I request you, to take some strict action against the erring officials here, and help me solve my issue at the earliest. And please ensure, that this time, THEY DO NOT CLOSE THE COMPLAINT WITHOUT SOLVING IT TO MY SATISFACTION.

We as subscribers, only have the TRAI as our saviour, when these kind of people try to avoid their work & provide us sub-standard services.
