*I want to know that...how is the difference of the picture quality of sd channels in this hd box?I mean to say that,u previously used sd box of d2h & now using hd box....are the pictures of the sd channels are better in hd box than sd box?*Channel change time...is it same/decreased/increased in hd box?*Quality & usability of software of hd box compared to sd box?*Is it got total new theme or some modification to sd box's theme only?*Quality of hdmi cable & stb?I am using d2h sd sat-dvd for more than 1 yr...& now planning to upgrade to dvr..so I want to know the differences b2in sd & hd box...

Yes.....they look a little sharper. And i noticed this - a few serials, used to be aired in "Cinemascope" earlier. ie, there were 2 black bands visible on top & bottom in serials too!! But those serials are now coming in Full Screen & looking sharper. I am not interested in serials, but i noticed this difference - so the answer to your question is justified.
Channel change time...is it same/decreased/increased in hd box?
Its slightly increased - but its withing tolerable limits of 2 odd seconds max.
Quality & usability of software of hd box compared to sd box?
The hardware that i have got is slightly unstable - as in catching signals from remote and all. But the guys are coming to solve by today/tomorrow. No major instabilities.....i am able to watch TV, record, schedule records & all quite without any hassles.
And the software as u must have seen, has cool looks. And pretty much stable - being changed almost every 2-3 days......
Is it got total new theme or some modification to sd box's theme only?
The look of the box is obviously different. Its not blky looking or big in size. Its reasonably compact in size & light-weight as well.

HDMI cable is good enough - as i mentioned, it is gold plated. And i have heard that any Audio/Video/Multimedia cable that is gold plated, is really good.

Yes. I was watching a comedy soap. In it, there was sound of birds' chirping in early morning, & i was sitting between 2 rear speakers......i literally looked to the left speaker coz i could make out that the audio shooted out from there!!

Color scheme is similar to ur DVD.....its a silver colour in lower half & the upper half is black - IR sensor.

Frankly speaking - yes there are a few, coz these people are frequently changing the system. But no such bug that u feel "Y did i buy Videocon??"
Active menu-r this menu same as sd box?(same content or they add few more active service for dvr users)
Same - no extra services....
Is active service hanging like sd box?
I havent used these much - neither in SD, nor in HD. Coz i dont find them worthy of using really!!

Yep!! Had an early niggle, but it was solved quickly - Customer Care is very fast - the rights to use DVR service werent activated on my id, when i bought it. The moment i reported the issue, within 2-3 hours i got a call from an area head, who solved it from his place only.

Yep sure!!Ok, i saw 1 small glitch, which i didnt mention is - I have 3-4 recorded shows. When i "Play" them, the screen stays all blank. But when i restart the STB, all the videos work fine.So, i just want to inform that a few glitches have been noticed, but there are very easy ways around them - however, i had called them up. Yesterday they were coming, but i had to refuse due to my personal reasons. So, the next "Appointment" with a senior engineer is on Monday. Hopefully i can get things done on Monday atleast!!
